5. Ruby Soho becomes the first TBS Champion

Heading into the semifinals of the TBS Title Tournament we have a final four of Nyla Rose, Ruby Soho, Jade Cargill, and Thunder Rosa.

And the resounding thought around this tournament is that Jade Cargill will come out of it as the new TBS Champion.

And that makes sense.

Cargill is clearly a star in the making.  She has it all, incredible athleticism and strength, beauty, mic skills, and that “it” factor.  She commands the room when she walks in it and has the presence of a superstar.

However, putting the TBS Title on someone who is so green in the ring would be the equivalent of throwing someone on day two of swimming lessons into the deep end of the pool.

Look at the wrestlers who have been the inaugural champions in the promotion to date, Chris Jericho, Cody Rhodes, Frankie Kazarian & Scorpio Sky, and Riho.  All put years and years into the sport before becoming the inaugural champion of their respective titles in AEW.

This is what makes Ruby Soho the best choice.

Soho is the most experienced woman on the AEW roster when it comes to wrestling on television, pay-per-view experience, and wrestling in front of large crowds.

And in AEW Soho has a chance to shine in a way that she never had in WWE.  Jade Cargill and Thunder Rosa are both future champions in AEW.  But the best choice to establish the new TBS Title is the most established female wrestler on the AEW roster.  And that is Ruby Soho.

4. The second annual Blood and Guts match will feature The Elite versus an Adam Cole-led faction.

Kenny Omega is taking some time away from the ring.  And he deserves it.  After a historic title reign that saw him collect multiple titles, Omega is taking some time away to heal a number of injuries.

But in his last appearance on television, we caught a quick glimpse of some underlying dissension between Omega and Adam Cole.

When Kenny Omega is healed and comes back to AEW expect this dissension to ramp up, ultimately leading to Cole, alongside Bobby Fish and Kyle O’Reilly (more on this later) turning on Omega and the Young Bucks, and setting the stage for a second Blood and Guts match.

Who ends up on each team all depends on who else joins AEW over the coming months.  My guess is that the original AEW Elite of Kenny Omega, the Young Bucks, Adam Page, and Cody Rhodes round out Omega’s team.

And Cole, O’Reilly, and Fish will pick up a couple of teammates from the current AEW roster, or possibly from some current free agents that have yet to make their way into the promotion.
