WWE is at the juncture where they have a surge in COVID cases, and concern grows over WWE Day 1 on January 1.

Each week Daily DDT looks at multiple budding rumors that are boiling over in regards to WWE. These stories cover Omos, Mustafa Ali, and WrestleMania.

Why did AJ Styles and Omos split?

AJ Styles and Omos were tough contenders for the current Raw Tag Team Champions, but Vince doesn’t think that way. We know Vince doesn’t like tag teams. He doesn’t like that he has to pay four superstars, compared to two superstars. It shocks one that a visionary like Mr. McMahon has such an approach. AJ Styles and Omos, however, weren’t broken due to that reason.

According to WrestleVotes, the two superstars have some mind-blowing ideas that they want to implement next year during or around Rumble and Mania events. Styles is considered one of the best performers in the industry today and his pairing with Omos has worked so far, so fans can expect some intriguing developments as they continue to tell the story of the former tag team champions.

WWE has nothing for Mustafa Ali

Mustafa Ali has the talent to be the top-tier superstar. He recently became a father again and is on paternity leave. Fans expected him to be present during the 17th December live event. WWE taped the 24th December event in Chicago the same night, but he wasn’t there.

Fightful Select’s Sean Ross Sapp reports that the reason behind his absence is not his paternity leave but a leave of creative direction for Mustafa Ali. The superstar’s feud with Mansoor ended and he hasn’t been utilized since their match.

WrestleMania plans involving Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns may change

Plans can change at any moment in the WWE, and it looks like one of the most revered storylines in the company could change come Day 1. Roman Reigns vs Brock Lesnar is the rumored main event of this year’s WrestleMania, but Dave Meltzer of WON has different thoughts.

Dave believes that the match on Day 1 will be intense, but it would leave the fans asking for more. It could lead to a triple threat at Mania if Drew McIntyre wins the Men’s Royal Rumble match. The Scottish Warrior won the WWE title from Brock Lesnar in front of no crowd, so this match with two powerhouses in front of a live crowd will be bliss.
