Bianca Belair has made a name for herself in WWE as one of the most athletic stars on the roster. She has grown so much over the years and upon seeing her for the first time in NXT, she was always bound for greatness and the momentum kept growing with no stopping in sight.

Bianca Belair’s growing momentum in WWE.

Back when the WWE Network was a thing in America, Bianca Belair emerged on NXT in 2016. This was during a time when fans would subscribe to the network primarily for a few superstars, including names like Asuka, Ember Moon, Shinsuke Nakamura, and Samoa Joe. Fans got more than what they bargained for with the debut of Bianca Belair.

Bianca made an appearance in the women’s battle royal where the winner received a shot at the NXT women’s championship. During the match, Bianca showed firsthand how lethal she can be with her athleticism. The most interesting part of the match happened when she used her hair as a weapon against an opponent as the crowd gasped at the loud impact.

Bianca came up short, but everything about her on NXT felt right. Her personality kept growing every week and fans got behind her as she remained undefeated. Every week and storyline she had, her confidence only grew even more and that was the birth of the momentum that kept going to this very day.

The fact she stood out even with stars like Kairi Sane, Nikki Cross, Shayna Baszler, and Mia Yim on the roster said a lot about her ability to stand out. By this point, she became a reason to subscribe to the WWE Network and watch NXT.

It all came full circle when she went against Shayna Baszler at NXT Takeover: Phoenix. The energy was different that night. Shayna Baszler was already a dominant champion and went against the best and she came out victorious.

There was a different feeling that night as she went against Baszler. Every fan in the arena and on social media truly believed that it was Bianca’s night to win the championship. With unparallel momentum on her side, it felt like Bianca was so close to her first singles title win ever.

Bianca came up short, but it still strengthened her presence as a competitor. Many times, momentum has been taken away as momentum reached a climax but ended in a loss, but Bianca’s kept growing at a fast pace. It only led to fans demanding more for the EST of NXT.

She took part in a monumental Wargames match which had a bigger effect on her career than imaginable. Not every superstar in NXT history has competed in Wargames, and it proved to be a major turning point to show growing confidence in the superstar.

After that match, she made an appearance on Survivor Series representing team NXT. This solidified herself as a highly reliable and durable athlete capable of taking part in a brutal match and showing up to one of the biggest WWE events of the year as team NXT was victorious over team RAW and Smackdown.

That wasn’t the end of her dominant streak as she appeared in the 2020 women’s Royal Rumble and eliminated eight competitors. She also lasted a significant amount in the ring and took out various stars from RAW and Smackdown. The one who eliminated her was the winner that year Charlotte Flair.

Her performance continued to prove that her coming up short in NXT many times for the top prize in the women’s division did nothing to stop her momentum. Her momentum became even higher than when she went against Shayna Baszler a few years prior.

Bianca eventually won the 2021 Royal Rumble and would go on to challenge Sasha Banks at Wrestlemania 37. It would be her Wrestlemania debut and it was the biggest possible way to compete for the WWE Smackdown women’s championship.

The match itself was a big deal since it’s no secret how influential Sasha Banks has been by building herself up as the true boss of WWE. Bianca did the same as she proved a point that her being the EST wasn’t just a nickname or part of a catchphrase.

It was one thing for them to have a match, but they ended up main eventing night one of Wrestlemania 37. Bianca was victorious and won her first singles championship in WWE on the biggest night of the year.

It all came to that moment and after seeing her come up short numerous times in NXT, the pure emotion of her winning as the main event highlight for Wrestlemania was worth the wait. The writing was on the walls as her momentum defied every loss that would otherwise halt momentum for anyone else, but it’s clear that Bianca is no ordinary wrestler.

Bianca had a dominant reign that came to an end after a short altercation with Becky Lynch. Even though her reign came to an end in a not so ideal way, it was clear that Bianca was not done chasing the Smackdown women’s championship.

Bianca’s growth and dominance come full circle at WWE Wrestlemania 38.

That brings us to the Road to Wrestlemania today with Bianca Belair going against Becky Lynch for the Smackdown women’s championship. The two have major parallels to this new age in wrestling and as mentioned many times, they must main event Wrestlemania 38 night one.

Becky was in the first women’s Wrestlemania main event and was victorious, while Bianca was the main event under the two-night format and was also victorious. Both superstars have victories in the midst of great change when it comes to the women’s division’s role in WWE.

It would be a crime to not have Becky and Bianca as the main event for night one since both have historic victories at Wrestlemania and it would be a good ending on the grandest stage of them all to show the two victorious winners in the last few years as a landmark for the future.

It would also mean one of them would be 2-0 in a Wrestlemania main event. The stakes couldn’t be any higher for a situation like this with the star power of Becky Lynch and the consistent high momentum of Bianca Belair, it’s the recipe for a true collision that would leave fans satisfied.

Bianca has grown so much and in terms of homegrown talent, she is one of the greatest to come out of the pack years ago on NXT. Now she could be a woman to main event another Wrestlemania since the two-night format was unveiled and make history yet again.

Bianca is the definition of successful homegrown talent and as she continues to build her resume, every accomplishment will be a reminder that the EST of WWE will continue to thrive and fans will be here to witness every moment.
