On Sunday Night, AEW had their annual show, AEW: Revolution. The show was headlined by “Hangman” Adam Page defending his AEW World Championship against Adam Cole. Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D, also defended her AEW Women’s Championship against Thunder Rosa. It also featured a rare “Dog Collar” match between CM Punk and MJF.

AEW: Revolution was a solid show from the very beginning of the Buy-In to the end of the main card. It featured a lot of solid matches, as well as some surprises. We saw Shane “Swerve” Strickland and William Regal make their presence felt last night in their AEW debuts.

3.  Wardlow wins the “Face of the Revolution” Ladder Match

Last night’s show featured the “face of the revolution” ladder match. The match consisted of six men, Powerhouse Hobbs, Keith Lee, Christian Cage, Ricky Starks, Orange Cassidy, and Wardlow. The match featured a lot of big moments and some scary ones at that.

At the end of the match, Wardlow power-bombed Ricky Starks onto a ladder where Starks landed directly on his neck. Wardlow ended up winning the match and winning the opportunity to challenge for the TNT Championship at a future date. A star was made last night in Wardlow.

2. The Dog Collar Match: CM Punk vs MJF

This match featured it all. CM Punk and MJF had a hot rivalry heading into this match. It all came to a head last night in the dog collar match.  CM Punk paid homage to his Ring of Honor time by coming out in his old attire and to his old theme song, “Miseria Cantare.” The match was bloody and featured both men just beating the hell out of each other.

At the end of the match, MJF called out Wardlow. MJF called for the Diamond Ring and Wardlow couldn’t find it. CM Punk hit MJF with a GTS and Wardlow placed the Dynamite diamond ring in the ring for CM Punk to use on MJF. CM Punk used the diamond ring on MJF to pick up the win. The match also featured Wardlow turning on MJF which made it that much better.

1. “Hangman” Adam Page retains his AEW World Championship

The main event of last night’s show saw “Hangman” Adam Page defend his AEW World Championship against Adam Cole. The match was a great, hard-hitting bout from beginning to end. Page and Cole had an absolute war over the richest prize in All Elite Wrestling.

The match featured a great showing by both men. Both men left it all out in the ring during the match. We also saw run-ins by reDRagon and The Dark Order. In the end, we saw “Hangman” Adam Page hit the running knee to the back of Cole’s head followed by a buckshot lariat to win the match and retain his AEW World Championship.
