WWE SmackDown Results March 18, 2022: Charlotte puts Ronda through the announce table!

WWE SmackDown results live from Charlotte, North Carolina. WWE announced that Universal Champion, Roman Reigns, and WWE Champion, Brock Lesnar, would “collide” on the show. The company also confirmed prior to the show that Kofi Kingston would go one-on-one with Ridge Holland, plus Liv Morgan & Rhea Ripley will face Sasha Banks & Naomi and Happy Corbin, Madcap Moss & Jinder Mahal will take on Drew McIntyre & The Viking Raiders in a six-man tag team match.

WWE SmackDown Results – March 18, 2022

The show begins with a tribute graphic for Scott Hall, who passed away earlier this week.

A video recap is shown of Roman Reigns’ attack on Brock Lesnar at Madison Square Garden, and The Beast Incarnate chasing Paul Heyman out of the arena last week.

Universal Champion, Roman Reigns, made his entrance alongside Paul Heyman and the SmackDown Tag Team Champion, The Usos. Roman Reigns tells Charlotte, North Carolina to acknowledge him. Roman says it is a special night as he gets to see Brock for the first time since he smashed him at MSG. Roman says he will make him bleed all over Charlotte when he shows his face tonight. Paul Heyman interrupts and says that Brock Lesnar will not be here this evening due to issues with his flight because of the weather. Heyman apologizes.

The fans chant for Lesnar, and Roman says he wants Brock to be here as well because he was about to smash him. Roman says Brock is scared of him, and that he is in God mode. Paul Heyman tries to interrupt again. Roman tells Paul to stop because he already told him about Brock’s flight. Heyman then says Brock Lesnar has landed and he’s on his way to the arena. Heyman freaks out. Roman and The Usos immediately leave the ring.

Backstage, The Bloodline looks to exit Charlotte in a car. Brock Lesnar then arrives in a forklift as the broadcast cuts a commercial. As we returned from the commercial, Brock had crashed through the windows of the car with the forklift. Brock then toyed with the vehicle and turned it on its side, as Lesnar enjoyed every moment of it. The Bloodline is then shown finding another vehicle to escape, but as they drive off, Lesnar rips off one of the doors.

Brock Lesnar then makes his way to the ring. Lesnar brings the car door with him. Lesnar says he is a little riled up. Lesnar says in two weeks at WrestleMania, he’s coming for blood. He says Roman better be prepared.

Shinsuke Nakamura & Rick Boogs vs. Los Lotharios

Shinsuke Nakamura and Humberto started the bout. Los Lotharios controlled the majority of the match before Nakamura tagged in Boogs. In the end, Boogs hit the Boogs Cruise on Angel to win the match.

Winners: Rick Boogs & Shinsuke Nakamura via pinfall

In gorilla, Happy Corbin is interviewed and says it’s going to be the greatest night of his life at WrestleMania. Madcap Moss tells a joke but it falls flat with Corbin, Mahal and Shanky.

Drew McIntyre & The Viking Raiders vs. Happy Corbin, Shanky & Jinder Mahal w/ Madcap Moss

The match initially advertised Madcap Moss teaming with Corbin and Mahal, but plans changed without any word as to why. During the match, Happy Corbin avoided Drew McIntyre at every cost. McIntyre won the match for this team by delivering a Claymore to Shanky.

Winners: Drew McIntyre & The Viking Raiders via pinfall

Backstage, Sami Zayn says he should be standing there with his Intercontinental Champion. Sami says he blames Johnny Knoxville and says that he’s ruined his life. Zayn says he’s going to show Knoxville what it truly means to step into his world and wants to make their match at WrestleMania an “anything goes” match.

Sasha Banks & Naomi vs. Liv Morgan & Rhea Ripley

The Women’s Tag Team Champions, Carmella & Queen Zelina, sat at ringside to watch the match. After a back and forth contest, Natalya and Shayna Baszler rushed down to the ring and attacked everyone involved in the match.

Winners: No contest

After the attack, Queen Zelina and Carmella entered the ring and held their titles up high.

A video of Johnny Knoxville is shown. He accepts the “anything goes” match against Sami Zayn at WrestleMania.

Michael Cole reveals that Pat McAfee has been summoned to Mr McMahon’s office. McAfee makes his way to the back.

Backstage, WWE Official, Sonya Deville, reveals that she is adding Natalya and Shayna Baszler to the Women’s Tag Team Championship match at WrestleMania.

Backstage, Pat McAfee is shown leaving Mr McMahon’s office. McAfee then makes his way to the ring. Pat tells a story about the first time he saw professional wrestling. He says his life changed immediately. McAfee says he thought he found the one thing he was able to do with his life. He says he then got a call from Michael Cole to come and work on SmackDown after he retired from the NFL.

Austin Theory then makes his way out. Austin gets in McAfee’s face. Pat reveals that Vince told him he had to apologize or lose his Mania match. Pat tries to apologize, but he can’t do it. Pat says he’s sorry for beating Theory last week and apologizes that Austin Theory is a punk b*tch. Austin Theory then takes a selfie, pushes McAfee, then exits the ring.

A video package is shown recapping Big E breaking his neck last week on SmackDown, which also included the videos he’s sent out on Twitter this week providing updates about his injury.

Kofi Kingston vs. Ridge Holland w/ Sheamus & Butch

During the match, Butch interfered, which resulted in him and Sheamus being ejected from the ringside area. Butch tried to return to the ring, which distracted Kofi and allowed Ridge to the Northern Grit to win the match.

Winner: Ridge Holland via pinfall

A recap is shown of SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair’s brawl with Ronda Rousey last week.

Charlotte Flair makes her way down to the ring. She’s presenting a ‘Charlotte’s Challenge’ segment. Charlotte says when you are her, you always have a plan. Charlotte says she showed “that one-trick pony” why she’s the most elite star. Charlotte says nobody has caused Ronda Rousey more pain than her. Ronda is shown watching on a screen backstage. Charlotte says that she is the mountain Ronda has to climb to cement her legacy. Charlotte says Ronda doesn’t have the spine, love or passion to become the thirteen-time Women’s Champion. Flair calls out Ronda Rousey.

Ronda is shown making her way to the ring, as Kayla asks her if Charlotte might be luring her into another trap. Ronda heads to the ring. Charlotte grabs a kendo stick, but Ronda ducks when she tries to use it. Rousey takes down Charlotte and goes for the Armbar. Charlotte then drops Ronda on the back of her head from the apron. Rousey responds by sending Flair into the ring post on the outside. Ronda goes for the Ankle Lock, but Charlotte manages to grab another kendo stick. Flair chokes Rousey with it. Charlotte then puts Ronda Rousey through the announce table.
