Now is the time to add Naomi to The Bloodline
The Bloodline is the top faction in WWE. Roman Reigns and The Usos are on the cusp of holding all the single and tag team belts on the main roster. There’s a missing piece that would make their dominance complete, and that is within the women’s division. The answer? Bringing in Naomi would not only be an interesting new wrinkle to The Bloodline, but it would also be the opportunity to feature her as the main event attraction that fans want to see.
Naomi’s resume is often overlooked. She’s a two-time SmackDown Women’s Champion and currently the Women’s Tag Team champion with Sasha Banks. Even though she’s held that title around her waist, Naomi isn’t consistently booked as a top women’s draw like the Four Horsewomen, Ronda Rousey, Bianca Belair, and a few others. Fans continue to push for Naomi to get her moment as the top of all the women in the company and slotting her to join The Bloodline is the way to get her there.
First, the heel turn is easily accessible by causing Naomi to turn on Banks. Banks and Naomi are the key to elevating the tag team championships, and they’ve already been featured more than previous champions (other than Sasha’s run with Bayley). Seeing the two women have a strong, but brief run, losing the titles to another well-booked team and then causing the split is the first step to help with her character change.
Naomi versus Banks in a singles feud comes with instant fan interest and wouldn’t need the focus of a title as the catalyst. Putting Naomi over gives her the big win that immediately makes her a top player in the division and someone that can take the championship from the top “babyface,” probably Ronda Rousey coming out of WrestleMania Backlash.
Seeing Naomi with the championship, standing next to Roman Reigns and the Usos, she would finally get that moment as a central attraction within WWE. It’s a moment that she deserves and fans would rally to see it week in, and week out. Plus, it is a moment that Naomi recognizes would be key for her career.
“I do [get the Paul Heyman wisdom] and it is a little weird that I’m not in it because I’m always there with them,” Naomi said while speaking with Inside The Ropes. “I’m always there, I’m always around, I’m always, you know, annoying them so, maybe later down the road or maybe there’s somewhere for me to come in with the boys. But definitely something I would look forward to. I would want it to be the right time, you know.”
That time is now. The fans want to see it. Naomi wants to see it. And it’s time to add a new shift to the Bloodline that would help build interest at a time when it is waning.
