AEW Rampage: Jade Cargill remains undefeated
The TBS Championship remains in the firm grasp of Jade Cargill. On Rampage, Cargill faced Willow Nightingale. It was their first one-on-one matchup. They had faced off in a Trios match back in April, in which Jade and The Baddies (Kiera Hogan and Red Velvet) won.
Cargill moved to 33-0 when she put the Jaded on Nightingale. She seems well on her way to 40 straight victories. Getting to 50 will be a tougher challenge.

At Double or Nothing, Cargill beat Anna Jay for the second time. After the match, Jade along with the Baddies were about to attack her when help arrived in the form of Kris Statlander. She was soon joined by an arriving Athena,who came right for the champion.
Athena made her in-ring debut against Hogan. The champ, Red Velvet, and Stokely Hathaway were sitting ringside. Red Velvet attempted to get involved, but paid for it by getting kicked off the apron. Cargill looked rattled as it started setting in that “The Fallen Goddess” could be a threat for the title.
The two have traded words on Twitter since right after Athena’s release from WWE. There was some radio silence until Athena made her debut. Since then, the back and forth has commenced daily.
Athena will need to pick up more wins to move into the rankings. She has competed once on Dark and will likely pick up some more victories there and on Dark Elevation. Cargill could do the same to get her closer to 40 wins. Britt Baker wrestled frequently on both to pad her record before becoming the Number One contender for the AEW Women’s Championship.

AEW Battle of the Belts takes place on August 5, which seems like a good time for Athena and Cargill to finally face off in the ring. All Out takes places just a month later over Labor Day weekend.
Cargill is extremely popular, even as a heel. She’s charismatic, a great talker, and continuously improves the ring. Athena is one of the best women’s wrestlers on the roster. She’s also very popular and fans are anticipating her holding gold. Whenever these two finally meet up, it will be worth the wait.
