Roman Reigns walked out of WWE Clash at the Castle with the WWE Undisputed Championship still over his shoulders. Even without The Usos and Paul Heyman by his side, Reigns pulled another name out of his bag as Solo Sikoa stepped to his side. Now, the group is even stronger, at least as it seems, which makes the challenge to take those titles out of his hands even harder. That won’t stop members of the WWE roster, and these are three individuals that stand out as the names that can take the belt from Roman Reigns.

Seth Rollins

Seth Rollins is seemingly on a mission to prove that he is the lynchpin of the entire WWE roster. It’s been two years since he’s held any type of championship and three entirely since he’s been the WWE Universal Champion. Still, he’s remained one of the most important men in WWE, helping elevate many other members like Seth Rollins, Cody Rhodes, Kevin Owens, and any other he’s shared the ring with during that run.

There was a moment when he and Roman shared the ring together back at the Royal Rumble. It was a throwaway match that was clearly put together because of the poor booking led by Vince McMahon. Even still, the two gave fans one of the better WWE matches of the year and created the space for something bigger when the time comes. Rollins and Reigns have the history to build an excellent storyline and we all know their match will blow the roof off the building. This is one that could be saved for a tent pole event like Royal Rumble or WrestleMania.

Cody Rhodes

The moment writes itself. Cody Rhodes returns from injury to win the 2023 Royal Rumble and become the number one contender. He heads into WrestleMania where he reaches his goal of becoming WWE Champion by defeating Roman Reigns in the main event. Those are one of the moments that are almost too perfect to write.

Imagine further if Rhodes must go through the extra hurdle of defeating Rollins again as a mid-step between facing Reigns. The “Tribal Chief” could even employ Rollins in a sense, promising him a title shot at a future date if he were to take out Rhodes.

No one would have predicted that 2022 would be the year that Rhodes would leave All Elite Wrestling and return to WWE. Even though he’s out with a severe injury, his return is going to be a major event for the promotion. Dusty Rhodes’s son is one step closer to becoming a WWE champion.

Jey Uso

Roman Reigns’s title run started with his angle against Jey Uso. At first, it felt like a throw-away feud that was a fill-in before WWE was able to pull in bigger singles stars during the global pandemic. However, that changed when Uso excelled in his position in the main event. With Jimmy on the sideline, Jey took what felt like a lot of pent-up feelings and brought that forth in the spotlight. That made his angle with Roman feel completely real, even though it was scripted entertainment.

Years later, there are still seeds of anger that are boiling away at Jey. They come out in how he treats Sami Zayn, which may seem like a comedy, but adds another wrinkle into the angle, especially when Kevin Owens gets involved. With the inclusion of Solo Sikoa, there’s so much to unpack in an angle that can potentially result in Jey being the man to turn on Roman, crumbling the Bloodline from within. Fans consistently complain that WWE has failed to build up new stars. Imagine the outcome that would happen if Jey Uso is the main to defeat Roman Reigns at some point in 2023.
