Tag team wrestling is slowly regaining steam in the WWE.

In professional wrestling, the tag team division is the space that has contributed so much to the profession. Yes, some of the most important singles stars got their start as part of a duo, but even those whose careers are tied heavily to tag team wrestling deserve a viable position in the hearts of fans. This is why it is a crucial step in the “rebuilding” of WWE in a post-Vince McMahon world, that a level of dedication returns to tag team wrestling and that is slowly happening in the promotion today.

With The Usos at the top of the ladder, WWE boasts one of the best teams in wrestling. But the complaints heavily came with what was beyond those two, as it was clear that McMahon didn’t want to invest much into the division. Stagnation and repetition aren’t strong enough words to describe just how destitute booking became for tag teams. But that may not be the case any longer.

The roster looks completely different today than it did a few short months ago. The Usos are now joined by a robust roster that can help build something special now that the cupboards are no longer bare. The Street Profits, Alpha Academy, Judgement Day, Hit Row, Imperium, The New Day, The Viking Raiders, Los Lotharios, and The Brawling Brutes are the groups that WWE creative can now pull from. This is a significant improvement when it comes to having a stacked roster, now the time is to look at how the groups are booked to build to some intriguing matchups.

Keep an eye on some potential first-time matchups for the tag titles

The Brutes have become the new number one contenders to the tag team titles, creating what will be some first-time matches seen atop the tag team division, a long-overdue situation. Groups like Imperium, Hit Row, or even Los Lotharios could follow, keeping that trend in place. And don’t forget about Legado del Fantasma, as their main roster debut is coming and that is a stable that is immediately main-event ready. Plus, keep an eye on the rebuilding of Judgement Day as they go from a slightly less corny iteration of a spooky stable to something that more fans are willing to cheer or boo.

Next. No thanks on a Logan Paul versus Roman Reigns title match. dark

Professional wrestling is a treat that should not be ignored. Finally, WWE is packing the roster with talented pairings that can deliver both in the ring and as characters. Fans should look forward to the future of this division as there’s a wealth of talent ready to step into the title picture.
