Fans debate AEW versus WWE every day, but what if the two companies took to the basketball courts to finally settle the debate?

It is that time of the year. Yes, All-Star Season. The NHL All-Star Game recently passed, along with the NFL Pro Bowl. The NBA All-Star Weekend is up next, but this is a website about professional wrestling, so what does that matter? Imagine a world where the pro wrestling “wars” as some would have it, were settled on the basketball court. In this hypothetical world, WWE and All Elite Wrestling would send their very best to take part in a single basketball game to determine the best promotion of the year. This is a breakdown of the first, and hopefully last, WWE versus AEW Pro Wrestling All-Star Game.

The immediate question is who would make up each roster and what positions would they play. These rosters aren’t based on who might be the best in the ring, but more on who would help either team secure the victory for the promotion. Each team gets two coaches to work the bench and keep the roster motivated, plus a team mascot, because why not?

The WWE roster is a mix of established names and stars carving their way into the future. Bianca Belair at point guard is an easy selection. She’s shown that she’s the EST of WWE, and with multiple athletic achievements under her belt, who would doubt that she could lead the team from the point guard position? Carmelo Hayes at shooting guard is another easy choice because his catchphrase defines it all, “Melo don’t miss.” Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns at the small and power forward positions would be a 1-2 punch that would be tough to deal with. Either man could take over the game and become impossible to stop. Omos at center could be the focal point of any offense.

WWE’s bench consists of AJ Styles, Charlotte Flair, Roxanne Perez, Chad Gable, and Bobby Lashley. A solid mix of experience and youth that could help in key moments as a unit and when mixed into the starting five. Paul Heyman and MVP on the clipboard are two Hall of Fame-worthy names calling out the plays. And when it comes to mascots, Austin Theory is 100 percent the man for the job when fans need someone to point and laugh, at him – not with him.

WWE Roster

  • Point Guard: Bianca Belair
  • Shooting Guard: Carmelo Hayes
  • Small Forward: Seth Rollins
  • Power Forward: Roman Reigns
  • Center: Omos
  • Bench: AJ Styles, Charlotte Flair, Roxanne Perez, Chad Gable, and Bobby Lashley
  • Coaching Staff: Paul Heyman and MVP
  • Team Mascot: Austin Theory

All Elite Wrestling could put together a strong roster of its own.

The 1-2 positions would be an amazing duo for AEW. With Ricky Starks at the point and Kenny Omega at the shooting guard, that’s the exact type of duo that can lead any team to a championship. Jade Cargill steps in at the small forward position and brings experience in basketball to the court with her. Keith Lee at power forward. Who is going to move him out of the paint? Then there is Satnam Singh, former Dallas Maverick player, and the only individual that could match height with Omos.

AEW’s bench would be all about the style of hooligan ball that would make the Detroit Pistons proud. Jon Moxley, Darby Allin, Daniel Garcia, and Nyla Rose may not bring in many points, but they will protect the bucket with nothing but violence. Max Caster is slated to be the court general for the second unit. Chris Jericho and Tony Schiavone will be the coaches, and hopefully, they can get along long enough to win the game. AEW’s mascot is none other than Tony Khan because that’s an easy one as well.

AEW Roster

  • Point Guard: Ricky Starks
  • Shooting Guard: Kenny Omega
  • Small Forward: Jade Cargill
  • Power Forward: Keith Lee
  • Center: Satnam Singh
  • Bench: Jon Moxley, Darby Allin, Daniel Garcia, Nyla Rose, and Max Caster
  • Coaching Staff: Chris Jericho and Tony Schiavone
  • Team Mascot: Tony Khan

Who would win this fictional basketball game? Who cares. The fun is in making up these rosters and the shenanigans that would follow as the Chase University cheering section rocks out.

Next. Jay White would be a massive addition to any promotion. dark
