WWE Raw Predictions: Finn Balor Will Surprise Seth Rollins

WWE Raw is on the road to WWE Money in the Bank 2023. On this week’s episode of WWE Raw, there are two scheduled MITB Qualifying matches: Becky Lynch vs. Sonya Deville and Zoey Stark vs. Natalya. Seth Rollins has also issued an open challenge for his World Heavyweight Championship, and Judgment Day’s Damian Priest courageously accepted the challenge after being decisively pinned by Rollins last week in the main event of Raw.

In terms of segments, WWE has announced that Cody Rhodes will be on Miz TV to discuss his baseless feud with Brock Lesnar. Due to his prioritization of avenging Lesnar, it is uncertain whether Rhodes will be in the MITB Ladder Match. That MITB Briefcase could be his only golden ticket back to Roman Reigns, so it will be interesting to see what he has to say regarding that. He could always handle Lesnar at SummerSlam after winning MITB.

With that being addressed, the following will provide some rapid-fire predictions for what should be an exciting episode of WWE Raw.

WWE Raw is scheduled to take place on June 5, 2023, at 8 p.m. ET/7 p.m. CT live on the USA Network. Here are some predictions for this week’s show.

Becky Lynch vs. Sonya Deville [MITB Qualifying Match]

Becky Lynch will defeat Sonya Deville to qualify for the MITB Ladder Match because she is a big name in the UK who can always be taken seriously as a credible favorite to win any match. Lynch has been in almost every MITB Ladder Match in history, and she has been pivotal in assuring that the match steals the show. Deville, on the other hand, is unfortunately booked like a jobber.

Becky Lynch can truly seize the day in the ladder match this year, especially with her current ongoing feud with Trish Stratus. She could very well use the MITB Briefcase as a golden ticket to get back in the title picture it would be a dream match with Rhea Ripley unless Stratus tips her off the ladder and stops her from doing so to help her new protege, Zoey Stark.

Prediction: Becky Lynch

Zoey Stark vs. Natalya [MITB Qualifying Match]

Speaking of Zoey Stark, she will defeat Natalya to qualify for the MITB Ladder Match because she is a huge component of the storyline between Becky Lynch and Trish Stratus and thereby needs the spotlight in the MITB Ladder Match. As an NXT call-up, this is a great opportunity for a fresh face to take center stage amongst the greats. As a veteran of the game, Natalya can take the loss.

Despite her greatness in the ring, Natalya has been in so many MITB Ladder Matches that it’s not absolutely necessary for her to be in the match this year. Starks needs this more and could use the Ladder Match as ammunition for stopping Lynch from winning the briefcase. She could even be a dark horse pick to win this year. With Stratus’ help, her dream could come true.

Prediction: Zoey Stark

Seth Rollins (c) vs. Damian Priest [World Heavyweight Championship]

Seth Rollins will defeat Damian Priest to retain his World Heavyweight Championship because he just won the belt and won’t be losing it anytime soon. It is unfortunate that WWE is wasting Priest’s title opportunity on Raw instead of booking this first-time-ever match-up on PPV. Priest was impressive against Bad Bunny at BackLash and could really use this exposure on a big stage.

However, it seems that this title match will merely be a conduit toward booking fellow Judgment Day member, Finn Balor, as the official number one contender for the world title in his homeland, the UK, at MITB. Rollins and Balor have a ton of chemistry in the ring as well as a ton of history in the main event scene. They will burn the house down in what should be a stellar match at MITB.
