Stardom boasts one of the best rosters in professional wrestling and they need to be featured at Forbidden Door II.

The partnership between AEW and NJPW brought fans Forbidden Door in 2022 and the sequel in Forbidden Door II that’s set for June 25. There are several big matches that fans look forward to witnessing. But as with many AEW shows, there’s a loud contingent of fans that want to see more women involved in the big showcase. As Forbidden Door II approaches there are calls for more women from Stardom to feature on the show. These are a few individuals on the Stardom roster that must be involved this year.

Fightful Select reported that Stardom and AEW have conversed about the former being involved in this year’s PPV. The company has a show scheduled for that same weekend, which would make it hard for many of the biggest names to be available. If this does come to fruition, here are some of the women that would be a perfect fit on the card.

Mayu Iwatani should be a lock for this show. While both Will Ospreay and Kazuchika Okada are announced for Forbidden Door II, it’s still open to see how current IWGP World Heavyweight Champion Sanada will be involved. But if he is, it only makes sense that Iwatani is also on the showcase. Iwatani is a multiple-time champion and the current IWGP Women’s Champion after defeating Mercedes Mone. Bringing her over for Forbidden Door and pitting her in a big match, against someone like Hikaru Shida for example, would be a huge showcase for the promotion.

Giulia is another formidable member of the Stardom roster that would get a major reception if she was a part of Forbidden Door II. Some of her hard-hitting matches are the exact kind the AEW fan base loves and would get everyone out of their seats.

What about KAIRI? The former IWGP Women’s Champion has a fan following in the United States due to her time in the WWE. When she left the company, many hoped she would show up in AEW, even in a surprise one-off appearance. That would not be the case, as she returned to Stardom and has had a strong run since.

Utami Hayashishita is another staple on the Stardom roster. She’s an individual who has done nearly all there is in the promotion and is still only 24 years of age. Momo Watanabe is another young star that could use the brief exposure to come through being involved with Forbidden Door II. Last, but not least, is Syuri. Syuri, who has competed in the highest levels of MMA, is also one of the best women’s wrestlers in the world. Her resume boasts all the top championships available in Japan and her return saw her rise right back to the top of the roster.

Stardom boasts what some will call the most stacked women’s division in all of wrestling. If AEW and NJPW fail to bring some of these women over for Forbidden Door II, that will be a big hit to the show. There’s too much talent on that roster to be ignored and this would come at a time when AEW needs to boost its own women’s division.
