AEW WrestleDream delivered for much of the card and these are the top three moments of the event.

AEW WrestleDream was yet another successful event in what has been an amazing run for All Elite Wrestling. The show had several astounding moments that elevated this show, even if the card didn’t jump off the page coming into it. These are the three that fans will talk about the most and have the biggest impact on what you see next in the promotion.

Julia Hart’s breakthrough performance

Fan support for Julia Hart was already growing heading into AEW WrestleDream. Her performance against Kris Statlander pushed that growth through the roof of the building. Everything about her screams superstar and even though she came out on the losing side of the equation, there’s interest in what the company will do with her next. She had several moments in this match where fans were pushing her to greatness. The spider suplex and then her amazing moonsault brought fans to their feet.

AEW has a consistency problem when it comes to the booking of its women’s division. Julia Hart successfully got over without a championship and the company must find a way to keep her relevant if the plan isn’t to put a belt around her waist. Her breakthrough performance on the PPV shows that fans are ready for what’s next.

Swerve Strickland has arrived

Whose house? Those two simple words are all Swerve needed to let the professional wrestling world know that he’s main event-ready. Everything about this match worked, and the time is now to push Strickland into the title picture. He displayed a level of brutality against Adam Page that should have firmly cemented him as the heel in this match, but the hometown crowd refused to boo anything from the native son. Swerve thrived in this moment and delivered the message that he is ready for the push.

It will be interesting to see where AEW goes next with Swerve. He can’t go directly into a title angle with MJF, as he is wrapped up in an angle with Adam Cole and Jay White. Perhaps the angle with Page continues, but “Hangman” should not get any wins over Swerve as cutting his momentum would be a huge mistake.

AEW is now Rated R

And then there was the main event. Christian in the main event, as rumors swirled about Edge’s contract status with WWE, painted the perfect picture. Everyone knew that Adam Copeland was coming through that curtain, but that did not stop the crowd from erupting when the multiple-time champion came out. Coupled with his iconic music from Alterbridge, this was a perfect way to close out the show. Adam Copeland in AEW is the perfect mix to create something exciting at a time when AEW needed it. That moment was the top of the show and perhaps the biggest in an action-packed weekend of professional wrestling.

Next. Mariah May would be a big signing for AEW. dark
