GUNTHER is the WWE World Heavyweight Champion, and a dominant one at that. He’s 97 days into his championship run and heading into a rematch with the man he took the title from, Damian Priest. Gunther should be the favorite to come out of the match with the championship. Looking at the WWE Monday Night Raw roster, here are three men who would be interesting challengers for the Ring General.

Finn Balor

Finn Balor versus GUNTHER was supposed to happen years ago. When Balor initially returned to WWE NXT, he popped up in NXT UK and was expected to challenge Gunther for the NXT UK Championship. The COVID-19 Global Pandemic put an end to that idea, pushing the two men apart. They would eventually have a singles match on the July 29 edition of WWE Raw, but that match was just an appetizer to what these two can truly do.

Balor versus Gunther would be an excellent match if given the chance to breathe and promoted behind a strong build. Fans continue to hope that Balor will get his chance to stand at the top of the division and seeing him across from Gunther would be one of his biggest matches in years.

Dragon Lee

Dragon Lee is a hidden gem on the WWE roster. The 29-year-old performer is an excellent in-ring worker. Before signing with WWE, he was considered one of the best luchadors in the game. Fans were initially excited to see him in WWE, but that momentum was killed immediately when WWE seemingly kept him off television for no reason. Now, he’s getting some run in a tag team with Rey Mysterio, which works.

But imagine a one-off match between Dragon Lee and Gunther. That would certainly be a fresh matchup that would be unlike anything Gunther has done so far in WWE.

Bronson Reed

Listen, if wrestling fans love meaty men slapping meat, then Bronson Reed versus Gunther fits right into that category. Reed and Gunther have had their interactions around the WWE Intercontinental Championship, but WWE has kicked Reed’s push to a new level. If he successfully gets by Seth Rollins, it will make a lot of sense to see Reed in the main event picture. Gunther versus Bronson Reed would not need to be a long-term feud but allowing them to have one big match on an episode of Monday Night Raw would go a long way.
