There are several interesting stories heading into WrestleMania 41. The card isn’t complete, but everywhere you look, big names are involved in important feuds. One such individual is Bianca Belair who is slated to face new champion, IYO Sky for the WWE Women’s World Championship. But that’s not all she’s involved with. In fact, the other angle close to her is more interesting and will be the one where the “EST” turns to another side of her character.
Jade Cargill’s attack on Naomi has fans wondering exactly what is going to come next. Is Cargill wrong in her actions? Was Naomi truly the one to attack her? Did Belair know what Naomi was going to do or did? Those are just some of the questions that will have to be answered during the arc of this angle. But that is not all that will happen.
If you look at the full arc of Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill, you’ll see the cracks in their friendship and partnership. Cracks that Cargill did not create, but those that existed before she even formed the powerful duo.
Bianca Belair was struggling before linking with Jade Cargill
Before teaming with Cargill, Belair was struggling to get back to the top of the women’s division. Belair went from holding the Raw Women’s Championship for 420 days, to not being able to get back to the belt. Not only could she not get back to the top of the division, but she was also losing singles matches that would have placed her in title contention.
All the while, Cargill was picking up wins. She’s yet to be pinned in WWE. Her only loss came to Nia Jax during the Queen of the Ring Tournament, and that was due to disqualification. She’s continued to be a force since stepping into professional wrestling, and that doesn’t seem to be changing any time soon.
So, it isn’t a far leap to think that Belair would not be able to stand idly by while her position was threatened, even if Cargill didn’t intend to threaten it. If Belair is truly going to regain her spot as the “EST” of WWE as a reigning singles champion, she’s going to have to face off against Jade Cargill at some point in the process. Rather than go about that as two babyfaces, perhaps fans should see that Belair played a part in taking the short route to get Cargill out of the picture.
John Cena’s heel turn has left the wrestling community shaken. He could have spent his whole career as the top babyface in the industry. But he’s taking the short route during his last year in competition. Will Belair’s turn have the same type of impact? No. But it will be a shift that will rock the WWE and be interesting to watch unfold.
This is sports entertainment; it is easy to see these types of angles coming. Fans have long booked the dream match between Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill. However, no one expected it to come with Belair playing the heel, but they should be prepared because that epic turn is going to happen sooner rather than later.
