Bronson Reed must defeat Seth Rollins at WWE Crown Jewel 2024
One of the big matches heading into Saturday’s WWE Crown Jewel pits Seth Rollins against Bronson Reed. In what has been a feud match coming, WWE has done an excellent job building to this match by making it clear that they want nothing more than to tear each other apart. Looking at the current landscape of Monday Night Raw, this is a match that Bronson Reed must win.
It’s understandable why Seth Rollins is the favorite in this contest. The multiple-time champion is returning from yet another battle with an injury. Fans want to see him get some momentum rolling, and they will always be on his side. At this point, Rollins is a “made man” in WWE. He will always be near the top of the card and can be slotted into a main event role at a moment’s notice. It is because of that status, that he doesn’t need to defeat Bronson Reed, at least not yet.
Reed has put together a serviceable run in WWE. Yet, this second stint with the company is lacking. He’s yet to gain any championship titles, and other than a few skirmishes around the Intercontinental Championship, he’s remained well outside the title picture. One way to quickly correct that issue is to give him a win over a big name. And there are few bigger in WWE than Seth Rollins.
WWE needs to keep a pipeline of contenders in the queue. Booking Reed to pick up the win adds him to a short list of names who can be seen as top contenders in the months ahead. Looking at the Monday Night Raw roster, who is the biggest heel name outside of Gunther? One could say Finn Balor, but Judgment Day has lost much of its luster since the split with Damian Priest and Rhea Ripley. Bron Breakker is another name that could be added to the list of top heels, but he’s one promo or spear away from fans cheering him as the antihero. There’s a void to fill on Raw and the roster needs another top heel. This is where Bronson Reed fits in.
Giving him this win over Seth Rollins is imperative at this point. If Rollins beats him clean in the first match of their feud, there’s no real reason to keep things going. Especially with how hot things started with Reed splashing him six times in a row. The fans immediately brought into Reed as a threat to any man on the roster. That’s the momentum that needs to continue to roll downhill. Of course, Rollins should and will get a win over Reed at some point. That just doesn’t have to come at WWE Crown Jewel.
Seth Rollins versus Bronson Reed has all the potential to be a fun car crash of a match. But when the paramedics sort through all the carnage, the best bet would be to give Bronson Reed the biggest win of his WWE tenure.
