Kylie Rae is an interesting addition to WWEID
The news about the WWE ID program brought a lot of apprehension across the professional wrestling industry. The biggest company in the business signing independent talent to “prospect” deals creates a lot of opportunity but also gives the organization an even stronger foothold in the business outside of its current walls. One of the latest names signed to a WWE ID deal shows that the company is looking to go after some of the most important independent names available. Kylie Rae was announced as the latest WWE ID signing and she’s the most intriguing addition to date.
Kylie Rae is revered around professional wrestling. Throughout her 8-year career, she’s appeared in several of the biggest promotions in the company. The list includes All Elite Wrestling, GCW, Impact Wrestling, NWA, Warrior Wrestling, New Japan Pro, and even a WWE match back in 2022. Many expected her to sign with the company then, but that did not play out. She also suddenly requested her release from AEW in 2019, at a time when many thought she was poised to be one of the promotion’s earliest stars in the women’s division.
“I’ve made a lot of mistakes in my life. But sometimes life gives us another chance,” Rae posted on social media. “Thank you WWEID, feeling blessed.”
It will be interesting to see how long Rae stays within the WWEID program before being brought in on a full-time deal. She checks all the boxes for what WWE looks for in the women’s division, and she would fit well in NXT, where Shawn Michaels continues to excel shining the spotlight on that group. Fans should look forward to seeing her as a top star in the years to come.
Including Rae, 14 names have been announced for the WWEID program. Fightful is keeping a running list of the individuals signed and the schools involved with the program to date.
