Mandy Rose’s WWE release was a whirlwind situation in which she went from being a dominant champion in WWE NXT to being out the door a few hours later. The news around the “why” behind the release became a bigger conversation point. She’s since established herself as a highly successful entrepreneur outside of the company, but a return is not completely off the table. If Rose did return to the WWE, it would be interesting to see where she’d fit in a stacked women’s division competing for time.

“Days like today, I will say, there was a part of me when I was sitting in the ring, doing the &A, and all the fans were there, I do miss it, I will say,” Rose said while speaking with Jamal Niaz of For The Love of Wrestling. “I said in an interview not too long ago that I didn’t really have the itch. I don’t know if I have the itch to go back and wrestle full-time right now. However, I do miss the fans. I miss the camaraderie. I miss the adrenaline rush. I’m doing a lot of amazing things, and I’m so grateful for where I’m at in my life. I would do it for the fans. I would do it for the aspect of, there was some unfinished business.”

What would that “unfinished business” look like? Well, Rose spoke directly about the end of Toxic Attraction. Gigi Dolin and Jacy Jayne were a successful tag team under Rose, but the latter was released Dolin and Jayne were in quite a holding pattern. Many expected them to go to the main roster, but they’ve remained in NXT where they are both on television weekly, involved in mid-card feuds within a well-utilized women’s division.

But what would things look like if this trio remained together and hit the main roster together? Rose’s run on WWE NXT did a lot to build her abilities as a sports entertainer. While her matches may not get all the stars some wrestling fans rant about, she did what WWE looks for in its roster and she did that well. She could easily have been a main roster foil for the likes of Bianca Belair, Becky Lynch, and several others on either SmackDown or Monday Night Raw. She could have taken on Trish Stratus or even been a babyface under the pressure of Nia Jax. There were opportunities there for Rose to fit into the women’s division as a focal point for what that group was doing.

It would be interesting to see how she’d be used if she returned today. Fans are clamoring to see more performers like Tiffany Stratton, then there’s Jade Cargill waiting in the wings for a big run of her own. The women’s division is so overflowing with talent that there’s a push for a women’s mid-card championship to be added to the mix. That would be a great space to slot Rose while gauging how fans would react to her return.

Opinions on Mandy Rose in WWE are strong, but her return to WWE NXT did a lot of good in rebuilding her in the promotion. If she were to return to the company, it would be interesting to not only see how fans would respond but to see where she would fit in what is a stacked women’s division across all three shows.
