We're just a few weeks removed from Death Before Dishonor and we had an episode of ROH that didn't have an overwhelming amount of Proving Ground matches. There was one Proving Ground match along with three (3) title matches. That's a rarity among Honor Club episodes. The one negative is that none of the matches were of either women's title.

Mark Briscoe started the show and title matches off. He defended the ROH World Championship against Johnny TV. While Johnny is a veteran in the business and has contributed a lot of ROH, it's a bit surprising to see him get a title shot. He stated that he had earned a shot. He beat Fuego del Sol on Episode 66. He and Shane Taylor were victorious in a tag match on Episode 64. Briscoe retained his title. The Beast Mortos pinned him on AEW television a few weeks ago. Briscoe demanded to face him next week.

The next title on the line was the TV Championship. Last week, TMDK's Robbie Eagles said that he wanted the best competition and gold, so he called out Atlantis, Jr. At Death Before Dishonor, the champion retained his title in a Survival of the Fittest match. He continued his winning streak and he defeated Eagles.

In the main event, it was the Six-Man Titles that we up for grabs. The Von Erichs and Dustin Rhodes won the vacant titles at Battle of the Belts IX. They faced Cage of Agony. When they were part of the Mogul Embassy, they were two-time Six-Man Champions and held them for a combined 361 days. This match ended in a DQ after the Dark Order got involved and attacked the current champions. Dark Order lost to the Von Erich and Rhodes at Death Before Dishonor, so they did not get to compete for the vacant titles at BOTB. Last week, Evil Uno attacked Rhodes after the Von Erichs had already left the arena.

The Proving Ground match was between Lee Moriarty and Action Andretti. Prior to winning the PURE Championship from Wheeler Yuta at Death Before Dishonor, he challenged Andretti. One would think that this would be an outright title match. Moriarty explained that Andretti needed to earn a shot at the title just like he did. Unfortunately for Andretti, he was defeated by the champion and thus did not earn a title shot.

ROH being filmed in one place consistently has proved beneficial, which isn't a surprise. They had their best episodes when they were filming in Orlando. In the few weeks they've been at ESports Stadium, the show feels more focused. Episode 77 proved that. In addition to the title matches, they had a match with high stakes between Serpentico and Griff Garrison. They've been involved in a month-long feud that also includes their respective tag partners. Garrison and Kole Carter have had Serpentico's prized mask for months. On episode 76, Serpentico asked for a match and if he won, he got the mask back. If he lost, he would be unmasked forever.

There was also a segment involving ATHENA, Billie Starkz, and Abadon. Last week, "The Fallen Goddess" and her Minion in Training had a great tag match against Red Velvet & Queen Aminata. Velvet has yet to defend her title and doesn't seem to have any contenders. After Starkz only had Proving Ground matches as champion, save for her title match at Death Before Dishonor, Velvet needs to be defending her title.

Moving forward, ROH should continue with more title matches, less Proving Ground matches, and involving the women's titles regularly.
