On the August 16 edition of WWE SmackDown, the numbers game finally got to Roman Reigns. Reigns had his moments, but that didn’t come without a cost and Jacob Fatu laid out the Original Tribal Chief. The numbers game came out on top, leaving Reigns on his back after being put through the table. Now, it’s time for him to bring things back together in what will be the next big chapter in this angle.

Roman Reigns never asked for help. As the Tribal Chief he manipulated his way into having several big performers jump at his beck and call. But that time is over. He’s lost ties to everyone and Paul Heyman was sent on his way via violence. Now, he’ll have to find a way to not only ask for help, but probably apologize for the mental and physical anguish he’s caused his family along the way.

Jimmy Uso has been out since the week after WrestleMania 40, recovering from injury. Multiple outlets have reported that he’s cleared for action, but WWE has smartly delayed his return. He’ll be the first to come back to Reigns’s side as he never genuinely wanted to leave the group to begin with.

Jimmy may not return alone, as Paul Heyman also has a point to play in this angle. Seeing how he’s not an in-ring performer, he may not add value there, but Heyman is an icon from a managerial standpoint and fans will celebrate the moment they see him walk through the curtain at Reigns’s side as well.

However, the big angle is the return of both Jey Uso and Sami Zayn to SmackDown. Adam Pearce was on a call during the latest episode of WWE Raw and he spoke about making a deal for “both” of them. There wasn’t any indication of who he was talking about, but Nick Aldis is expecting to get someone in return for allowing Randy Orton to make the jump over to Raw to challenge Gunther. That’s the move that will bring them back to Fridays, but it will be interesting to see how Reigns goes about bringing them back into the fold.

Expect Zayn to be the one to forgive Reigns first, which would make sense. Roman put Jey through hell for years, starting during the pandemic era of WWE. They’ve played up the manipulation and abuse that many feel from family members and are going to the full length to have to walk away from it. Jey Uso went through all those shifts, even losing his twin brother along the way. Reigns is going to have to jump through some hoops and take some beatings to get Jey to return, but once he does that pop is going to be a massive moment for the WWE fan base to experience.

Predictable storylines are a great part of professional wrestling. They allow fans to watch in anticipation of what is to come and seeing how these inventive minds get there. Roman Reigns will re-establish The Bloodline under his wings, but he’s going to have a lot of work to do to get there and that’s going to be the fun part.
