WWE SummerSlam 2024 Predictions: Roman Reigns Will SCREW Solo Sikoa

WWE SummerSlam 2024 is this Saturday in Cleveland, Ohio, and WWE has already confirmed the entire card for the biggest party of the summer with 6 title matches as well as a heavily featured personal rivalry between Drew McIntyre and CM Punk. Unfortunately, there are no tag title matches on this show, as they have not been featured on PPV since WrestleMania 40. Nonetheless, will Roman Reigns return to SummerSlam to screw Solo Sikoa as revenge for blatantly taking his spot as Tribal Chief? Now that the entire card is official, it is time for those SummerSlam Predictions.

CM Punk vs. Drew McIntyre [Personal Rivalry: Special Guest Ref: Seth Rollins]

When anyone messes with the Chicago Bull, they get the horns. When Drew McIntyre injured CM Punk with the Future Shock DDT at the Royal Rumble this year and even prayed for it, there was hell to pay. This match is the only match without a championship on the line, and it is undoubtedly and objectively the best pro wrestling storyline this summer. In the past few months, as revenge for what McIntyre did, CM Punk has screwed Drew McIntyre out of the World Title picture on four separate occasions: (1) WrestleMania 40, (2) Raw After Mania, (3) Clash at the Castle 2024, and (4) MITB 2024.

At WrestleMania 40, CM Punk screwed Drew McIntyre by hitting him with his arm cast, allowing Damian Priest to capitalize with MITB and take the title away from McIntyre in five minutes. On the Raw after Mania, Punk screwed McIntyre in a number one contender's match by holding onto his foot, allowing Jey Uso to get a title shot at Backlash. At Clash at the Castle 2024, Punk screwed McIntyre's opportunity to win the World Title in front of his people in his hometown of Glasgow, Scotland by disguising himself as the referee. At MITB 2024, Punk screwed McIntyre's MITB Cash-In.

It can be argued that Drew McIntyre should win to get revenge for all those times Punk screwed McIntyre. However, that is not the true premise of the story. CM Punk will win this match because he needs to get his ultimate revenge for the fact that McIntyre made him miss his potential WrestleMania main event due to the injury at the Rumble. On top of that, he needs to get revenge for McIntyre taking away his precious bracelet that has AJ Lee and Larry's names on it. This made everything extremely personal for Punk, and he will show no mercy to McIntyre at SummerSlam.

This match will be reminiscent of Bret Hart vs. Undertaker with Shawn Michaels as the special guest referee. at SummerSlam on August 3, 1997. Shawn Michaels had beef with both Hart and Taker. Hart spit in HBK's face, HBK swung a chair at Hart, Hart ducked the attack, and HBK accidentally hit Taker. Hart then capitalized and pinned Taker for the win as HBK reluctantly executed the 3-count. Correspondingly, Punk is equivalent to his hero, Bret Hart. McIntyre is equivalent to Undertaker, who gets screwed. Rollins is equivalent to the special guest referee himself, Shawn Michaels.

Punk will win, just like Hart did 27 years ago, especially since this will be his first singles match since returning to the WWE. Also, Punk has had enough bad luck in Cleveland. He left WWE, lost his first UFC fight, and lost his first AEW World Title in that city. It's about time that dry spell goes away.
