The New Day has been one of the most inevitable parts of WWE television for a decade. Kofi Kingston, Big E, and Xavier Woods dominated the WWE tag team division and became one of the most decorated factions in the company's history. The trio also had their fair share of individual success as Kingston and Big E became WWE Champions, and Woods became the 2021 King of the Ring.

After Big E sustained a career-threatening injury in March 2022, Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods continued to perform as a standard tag team. But it appears the time has come for the beloved group to disband, as recent developments suggest Karrion Kross could be the catalyst behind The New Day's implosion.

Following the 2024 WWE Draft, The New Day started a rivalry with The Final Testament, and the latter's leader, Karrion Kross, has been attempting to cause a rift between Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods. Woods being the only member of The New Day with no significant singles achievements is the fact that Kross is using to play mind games with Woods and convince the latter that Kofi Kingston is holding him back.

It appears Kross has succeeded in getting into Woods' head, as the latter's expressions and demeanor over the past few weeks suggest that he's on the verge of an inevitable heel turn. The feelings were quite visible on his face during the backstage segment between him, Kofi Kingston, and Odyssey Jones on the August 5, 2024, episode of Raw. The storyline could play out for a few more weeks until Woods reaches his breaking point and unleashes a brutal attack on Kofi Kingston to cement his heel turn.

Xavier Woods has all it takes to embark on a successful singles journey, and he is more than capable of pulling off a convincing heel character. However, with the current WWE landscape and the level of talent on the roster, it's doubtful that Woods might breach the main-event scenes and go on to win a world championship. But let's not write off that possibility, as many things have happened in WWE in the past that seemed impossible at first.

For now, let's hope that WWE finds the right place for Xavier Woods as a singles star on the roster and that he climbs up the mountain to write his name among the greats of the business.
