Within WWE there are several interesting storylines occurring. While there’s always room for improvement, there’s a lot to look forward to within each show. One such angle that has caught the attention of many is the story going on with The New Day and the Final Testament. It’s an angle that looks to spell the end of the popular team. But perhaps it’s also the catalyst that sends Xavier Woods on his own “KofiMania” like journey.

Karrion Kross is the thorn that no one asked for, continuing to prick at The New Day. Overall, The Final Testament is a group that hasn’t translated in a way that reflects their consistent use, but this angle opens a door to talk further about a potential split between Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods.

The New Day has been around for a decade. Even though the group didn’t fully debut as The New Day until November, the faction was first put together on July 21, 2014. In just a few days, the WWE has the potential to celebrate this pivotal faction that means so much to so many both in and out of the ring.

But what if WWE used that celebration as a moment to split the group up? Fans have long talked about them being “stale” and in a holding pattern within the tag team division. They’ve done nearly all they can achieve as a team. So, perhaps it is time for them to go their separate ways. That doesn’t mean the typical tag team split that leads into a feud but imagine Woods making it clear that he wants to go his own way to obtain his own success. He was by Kingston’s side when he became champion. He was by Big E’s side when he became champion. It would make sense for him to want to pursue his own success at a higher level.

Xavier Woods is one of those performers that fans would rally around. He’s popular in all aspects of sports entertainment, and people often overlook him as an in-ring performer. He knows how to get a story across, not only with his promos but with what he does bell-to-bell. Look back to some of his past examples against the likes of GUNTHER, Finn Balor, and even Matt Riddle. Woods is much more than a tag team specialist.

WWE doesn’t need to tell the story of a full-on New Day split. The team can go their separate ways without fighting it out. Watching Xavier Woods attempting to go on his own to capture a singles championship would be a compelling story for fans to get behind. And it could even set the stage for the Big E return that fans are hopeful of seeing one day.
