Wrestle Dynasty is a brand new event that will see talent from AEW, ROH, CMLL, STARDOM, and NJPW compete. There will be the first-ever International Women's Cup. It will involve four women from each promotion, save for NJPW. Each promotion will have qualifying matches to determine their representative.

On Thursday’s episode of Honor Club, there was a qualifying match to determine the ROH representative. Women’s Champion ATHENA defeated Women’s Television Champion, Red Velvet, Billie Starkz, and Leyla Hirsch.

ATHENA has spoken about her desire to wrestle in Japan in interviews and media scrums. She even told Tony Khan in a scrum that if she couldn’t go to Japan, she wanted the best brought to her. One of those women was Miyu Yamashita. There is also the possibility that she could go into Wrestle Dynasty without a title. On episode 94, she agreed to a title match with Starkz at Final Battle. That show is on December 20.

AEW will determine their representative on this week’s Collision. They had a mini-tournament to determine who would go to Japan. In round one, Jamie Hayter defeated Queen Aminata to advance. Willow Nightingale defeated Serena Deeb. Hayter has been targeted by Julia Hart in vignettes preceding her eventual return. Nightingale is a former NJPW Women’s STRONG Champion as well as CMLL World Women’s Champion.

CMLL is having a 4-way women’s match on Friday night. They have three women’s champions competing. La Campeona Mundial (World Champion) Zeuxis will face La Campeona Universal (Universal Champion) Persephone, La Campeona Nacional (National Champion), Sanley and la ganadora del Grand Prix de Amazonas (winner of the Amazon Grand Prix), Reyna Isis. Zeuxis has competed on Honor Club and in ROH. Zeuxis defeated Nightingale in September to become World Champion. Isis has competed several times on Honor Club.

STARDOM has yet to announce how they’ll determine their representative. Their annual show, Dream Queendom will be on December 29. It seems likely that the qualifying match will happen then.

The winner of the International Women’s Cup gets to choose whichever title they want in whatever promotion they want. Wrestle Dynasty is on Janurary 5, 2025 at the Tokyo Dome.
