The Four Pillars of The Future for WWE's Women's Division
When it comes to the element of change, the wrestling industry seems to embrace it to survive. With deals, contracts, releases, and the like, any fan's favorite show or star could wind up in a new direction. Women's wrestling in WWE, however, had to wait for change to knock on its door in a substantial way.
But once it did, it brought crops of ladies ready to soar into higher heights. Between Trish Stratus, Lita, Jazz, Melina, Mickie James, the Four Horsewomen and others, women's graps had no choice but to evolve for the better. Though the road was rocky, female athletes got to top billing along with their male counterparts. Now as the major promotion continues to blaze through its renaissance era, many women's wrestlers are rising up the ranks to stake their claim. Though the wrestling fandom can be doubtful the women's roster can thrive without their standard bearers, WWE is taking its time to cultivate stars of the future. Let's take a look at four women who currently stand as the pillars of the future of WWE's Women's Division.
Jaida Parker
What's the procedure when Ms. Parker enters the room? Easy. Acknowledge that it's her time and don't play with her. Since she burst onto the scene during the 2023 NXT Women's Breakout Tournament, Jaida has entranced the WWE Universe with her unapologetic confidence, toughness, and beauty. Coming from the world of collegiate soccer, her sharpness knows no bounds. Many of her opponents have underestimated her due to her young career, but Parker has shown and proved that she can go toe to toe with the best of them. One only has to look to her heated rivalry with Michin (Mia Yim) which culminated in a fierce Street Fight. Michin is known to be a savant in extreme matches, but Parker rose to the occasion by using her aggression to propel her to victory.
Once she has grown more and reaches the main roster, Jaida can bring a fresh level of attitude and fire to whatever show she is on. Can you imagine her brashness in the face of Liv Morgan or Zelina Vega? She carries herself with major swagger and that will always keep fans watching.
Roxanne Perez
Roxanne Perez has been the future of women's wrestling before her days in NXT. From the age of 13, The Prodigy knew she could work her way to the top with passion, grit, and determination. What she lacks in age, she makes up for in experience as she has faced off against a murderer's row of women's wrestling icons like Meiko Satomura and Deonna Purrazzo.
Once she arrived to the then-multicolored brand, she went on to become the 2022 Women's Breakout Tournament winner, an NXT Women's Tag Team Champion with Cora Jade, the first-ever Iron Survivor at NXT Deadline and two-time NXT Women's Champion. But as she grew a more sinister side, fans and pundits wondered if she could be believable as a driven bad girl with a chip on her shoulder. Perez would proceed to prove them all wrong, however, as she blasted through Lyra Valkyria to win her title back during Wrestlemania weekend. Her drive and adaptability to diverse opponents continue to fuel her longevity in sports entertainment.
Though she is a pillar of NXT, Perez has proved her worth with small appearances on the main roster and as a two-time Royal Rumble participant. With her experience in and out of WWE, she gives a level of innovation that is reminiscent of Bayley and Mercedes Moné. With that type of creativity, Roxanne will build a legacy of excellent matches that will raise the bar in WWE.
Tiffany Stratton
Who would've thought that the second coming of Sharpay Evans would be in wrestling? It would have been easy to dismiss the "Center of the Universe "due to her bombshell exterior and rich girl persona. But Stratton has lit a fire underneath the wrestling landscape due to her quick ascent.
Since her debut on NXT 2.0, the Buff Barbie has taken to sports entertainment like a duck to water. Watching her bridge the gap between her high-flying gymnastic stunts and her wrestling arsenal has been a wonder to watch. After her stellar time in NXT as a former champion and stepping up to Four Horsewoman Becky Lynch, Stratton shot up to the main roster and made a name for herself with a notable performance in this year's Elimination Chamber match. Then after aligning with Women's Champion Nia Jax, Tiffany stamped her name in history as 2024's Money in the Bank winner. She now has the fans in the palm of her hands as they wait for her to cash in on her own terms. With her gravity -defying stunts and magnetic personality, Stratton has the tools to rise higher and put gold around her waist in her own Tiffy Time.
Kelani Jordan
In life, people love to cheer for an underdog who beats the odds to get to the top. That is the truth of Kelani Jordan. Like Tiffany Stratton, Jordan also came from the world of gymnastics. As she wrestled on untelevised NXT live events, Kelani's agility and smoothness in the ring caught the attention of social media.
After making it to the finals of the Women's Breakout Tournament and qualifying for the Iron Survivor match last year, Jordan would get close to glory only to fall short. The Standout had a chip on her shoulder, but she carried it with grace as she climbed her way to making history as the first-ever NXT Women's North American Champion. Though her ability has grown by leaps and bounds, the quality that shines the best is her persona's ability to be the voice of reason amidst a locker room full of chaos. Though the previously mentioned pillars have taken on or already had traits of the dark side, Kelani remains a fighting heroine who is confident in her light.
Jordan has the potential to be an NXT Women's Champion, but once she reaches the main roster, she has all of the tools to stand with contemporaries like Katana Chance, Kayden Carter, and Naomi. As long as Kelani continues to reach for greater, she will always be a vibrant part of WWE's future.
