The next few days are packed with professional wrestling action. Betwen WWE and All Elite Wrestling, there's more than enough to satiate any fan. While all eyes are on some fo the biggest matches set for weekend, particulary those on the AEW All in 2025 PPV, there are some that are flying under the rader. These are three matches that are important in their own right, but might not be the highest on the pecking order coming into the Saturday and Sunday stretch across the two biggest companies in the business.
Becky Lynch versus Bayley versus Lyra Valkyria in a triple threat for the WWE Women's intercontinental Championship
While WWE Evolution may be struggling to fill out the arena against a major Beyonce concert, that doesn't take away from the importance of the show. This card shines a bright light on the women's division, perhaps the most stacked division in women's wrestling. There are a lot of important matches on this card, but fans should pay close attention to Becky Lynch versus Lyra Valkyria versus Bayley for the WWE Women's Intercontinental Championship.
Bayley and Becky Lynch are icons in this industry. What has been special to watch is Lyra Valkyria's ability to keep pace with them both in the ring and on the microphone. Midcard championships are meant to elevate performers into the main event picture and this is exactly what will happen with this feud. Regardless of who wins on Sunday, this match is meant to further Valkyria's build and it has been successful so far.
Adam Cole versus Kyle Fletcher for the AEW TNT Championship
Let's be honest, Adam Cole isn't the same guy who fans thought and hoped he'd be long term. That's not all his fault, as he's been the victim of multiple injuries and the booking of the TNT title has never been the strongest. It is time to get that title off his waist and Kyle Fletcher is the perfect one to take it from him.
Kyle Fletcher has all the makings of a future AEW World Champion. The TNT Championship seems like a major step back for him, but he is someone who is capable of rebuilding that belt to what it once was. This should be a great singles match, with Fletcher coming out on top at the end.
The Men's and Women's Casino Gauntlet Matches
AEW's creation of the Casino Gauntlet Match is one of the company's best contributions so far. It is a fast paced match that not only sets the tone for the future of the divisions, but builds to some interesting storylines with how things play out throughout the match. These two matches are coming at at time when the future of both divisions is up in the air. Seeing two new faces come out on top and be the top challengers for the champions helps build toward what is to come. Expect a lot of surprises in both matches, with several men and women who could be the one with their hands rasied at the end.
