Finn Balor Returns to WWE NXT, Destroys Bobby Roode (Video)

On Wednesday night, Finn Balor made his potential one-off return to WWE NXT and laid waste to Bobby Roode and Andrade “Cien” Almas.

For the past week, WWE put more hype into an NXT TV taping than ever before. They pre-advertised a Bobby Roode vs. Kassius Ohno NXT Championship match, a rarity in itself. Shinsuke Nakamura’s return was mentioned as well. However, perhaps the most interesting part of the announcements came on Wednesday when Finn Balor was confirmed to appear.

Balor hadn’t been in any physical altercation on WWE TV since SummerSlam 2016. That changed at the taping, despite WWE noting he’s “not medically cleared”.

During the final moments of the show, Bobby Roode and Andrade “Cien” Almas went after Nakamura, who had just defeated TJ Perkins. The lights then went out and Finn Balor made the save, taking out both Almas and Roode.

Judging by the video below, you tell me if Balor is really “not medically cleared”.

For WWE to post this on their social media accounts, it may mean Balor’s return was a dark segment. He left NXT after the WWE Draft in July 2016, so to show him on an episode wouldn’t really push forward a storyline.

What is interesting is WWE recently began advertising the Demon King’s return to the ring. This is set to take place at multiple main roster live events in March. Could that mean we get him in action at WrestleMania 33?
