WWE: Is Pete Dunne Teasing Something or Nothing?

What’s the deal, if anything, with Pete Dunne’s recent tweets?

Pete Dunne broke out as one of the WWE United Kingdom Tournament’s top stars in January. He won over fans — despite being a heel — with his antics in and out of the ring. Tyler Bate defeated him for the WWE UK Championship in the finals, but it was clear that we hadn’t seen the last of the Bruiserweight.

In a recent edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, there was mention of WWE considering Dunne for a spot on the Raw or SmackDown. It would be a big jump for someone who’s only made one appearance on NXT since the UK Tournament, so we’d obviously have to see it to believe it.

Over the past few days, Dunne has made some interesting tweets that turned some heads, some of which could relate to being “teasers” or just nothing.

The first one came on Saturday morning, after the heavily-hyped live event headliner of Triple H, Samoa Joe and Kevin Owens vs. Finn Balor, Chris Jericho and Sami Zayn. It ended up getting over 2,000 retweets/favorites from fans, most of which was speculation.

On Sunday, Dunne posted a tweet with the caption “Make a name for yourself.” He also tagged Revolution Pro, Ringside Perspective and Pentagon Jr. in the tweet.

Does it mean anything? Well, during the UK Tournament, Triple H famously told Dunne to “Make a name for yourself.” So fans will put these two tweets together and wonder if it means something is about to happen.

The fun idea to speculate on would be Triple H bringing Dunne in for a faction with Kevin Owens and Samoa Joe. They haven’t officially formed, but Owens and Joe working together on Raw and the three teaming at the recent live event adds substance to the matter. Factor in the 24-year-old’s tweets, past history with the Game, and the previously-noted rumor and it makes for something interesting to think about for the next three weeks.
