Vince Russo Talks Last Night’s RAW, WWE Booking

Point 7
"“As far as character building and storytelling. If they would have left that match alone last week between Bray and Cena, they were accomplishing two things, and I don’t think they even realized what they were accomplishing. What they were accomplishing early in that match was they were turning John Cena heel and Bray Wyatt babyface. That’s what was happening in that match and that’s what everybody wants. Everybody wants to boo Cena and wants to love Bray Wyatt. Then all of a sudden it turns into this cluster six man…a mess. My point is, with the way Bray Wyatt sold last week, which now it doesn’t have the impact that it could have had, with the matches they had this week…put Bray Wyatt in a match with Heath Slater for thirty seconds and let him eat him for lunch instead of a quick promo.”"

John Cena’s heel turn is one of the most overdue actions that need to occur in the entire sports entertainment industry and as Russo stated above, the reason is quite simple – the fans want to boo Cena! It’s been going on for years! He’s not a bad guy, but the way how WWE books him as this stale Superman-like character has destroyed his credibility with the fans, who the company does not seem to care about.
Bray Wyatt should have been a face months ago when The Wyatt Family was at an extreme high in popularity. He should have turned once the lack of faces in WWE was very apparent after Daniel Bryan’s injury. As of now, with the recent booking of Wyatt, that seems to be nowhere in sight.
Point 8
"“Some people are good wrestlers and bad actresses. You have to work with those people. Nikki Bella is not one of those people. When they first started doing those backstage segments, I thought “good, they’re protecting Nikki Bella.” They’re putting her in pre-taped segments where they could shut it down and do it over again. They were cheesy and bad, but that’s the point. Then they put her on stage in front of the people again and it makes no sense because she’s a bad actress. Nikki should have been told about her Divas Championship opportunity by Stephanie McMahon backstage in Triple H’s office. Instead, you make your Divas Champion Paige, look like a supporting actress in the background. You’re going to kill a 22 year old phenom to put Nikki and Brie Bella center stage? They could have kept Paige and AJ Lee out of this. There was no point. It was a waste of time.”"
Brie and Nikki Bella are train wrecks on the mic. Vince Russo knows it and the entire WWE fan base knows it.
Despite the flaws of the Bellas, WWE seems to think shoving this down our throats is better and more relevant than Paige (the Divas Champion) and AJ Lee, the top Diva of the past few years.
Because of the attention the twins are receiving, they’re probably going to be thrown into the Divas Championship match at Night of Champions. If one of them wins, any momentum built up for AJ and Paige is going to be dead. Drama (the Bellas) will win over very good mic skills and very good wrestling skills (AJ and Paige).
