WWE Hell in a Cell Predictions: Gold and Stardust vs. The Usos for the WWE Tag Team Championship
By Mike Smith
At this Sunday’s WWE Hell in a Cell pay-per-view, The Usos will challenge Gold and Stardust for the WWE Tag Team Championship.

After winning the title in early March on Raw, The Usos had dominated the tag team division all year long, retaining against everybody who got in their way. Until last month’s Night of Champions, when Gold and Stardust finally ended their reign and became tag champs together for the first (second, if you include Goldust’s reign with Stardust’s other persona, Cody Rhodes).
Since then, The Usos have had some success against the new champions in six-man tag matches, but their only shot at regaining the title ended in a DQ, after Goldust used a title belt.
Now, The Usos get one more shot at the titles, and Rob Wolkenbrod, Jordan Campbell, Carl Gac, Becca Cook, Callum Wiggins, and Mike Smith are here to offer up their predictions:
Rob’s Take: This is another feud that has had some strange booking. It feels like Gold and Stardust have won maybe one match since they took the Tag Team Championship last month.
I can’t see WWE taking the titles off of them after only one month. It would make the character change of Cody Rhodes to Stardust and both of their heel turns look useless. This is WWE we’re talking about, so you never know.
Rob’s Prediction: Gold and Stardust
Jordan’s Take: I will be honest, the Goldust and Stardust gimmick has a longer shelf life than I expected, and, the gimmick has been somewhat entertaining. And, The Usos have been fairly consistent in having entertaining Pay-Per View matches. I give this match to The Usos, operating under the assumption that The Ascension will debut soon and take the titles away from the face team.
Jordan’s Prediction: The Usos
Carl’s Take: Nothing but a win for the Dust brothers for me. These 2 seem to be the only tag teams around at the minute, but weren’t helped with the non title loss against Ambrose and Cena in the triple threat on Raw recently. It would seem the tag division isn’t currently a priority in the company. Surely it’s about time to add other teams into this, or bring some teams up from NXT to face them.
Carl’s Prediction: Gold and Stardust
Becca’s Take: Like most tag team matches on PPV as of late, this will be one of the matches of the night. The Stardust gimmick is the best thing to have happened to Cody Rhodes in years, and although I’m still confused by their heel turn, they have been an impressive team. I think the Dusts will retain but hope that the Usos are not dropped after this feud ends
Becca’s Prediction: Gold and Stardust
Callum’s Take: I am not looking forward to this match. Earlier this year, I would have left any show a happy man if the Usos were competing, but this feud has killed both teams for me. They have been in about a dozen six-man tag team matches opposite one another, and they have lost any fire they once had as rivals. Maybe they will show something new at Hell in a Cell, but with the amount of matches they have had recently I’d be surprised. Gold/Stardust will most likely retain.
Callum’s Prediction: Gold and Stardust
Mike’s Take: Gold and Stardust should retain the titles here. The two brothers have been a lot of fun to watch together, especially since Cody made the move to Stardust.
I think it’s time for The Usos to go away from TV for a couple of weeks, then come back with slightly new characters. They’re not stale yet, but WWE should really try and stay ahead of the curve. They shouldn’t turn heel, they shouldn’t split up, but maybe a few slight tweaks to their character could make them feel fresh.
Mike’s Prediction: Gold and Stardust
We have it 5-1 in favor of Gold and Stardust, but we want to know what you think. Let us know in the comment section below.
