When Will Injured Superstars like Bad News Barrett Return?
By Becca Cook
WWE has been affected recently by numerous stars on the roster suffering from various injuries and being out of action. The lack of wrestlers has been apparent on their programming, as some of their most regularly appearing talent have not been present recently. WWE will be looking forward to having these stars back in action as soon as possible, but when will this be?

Daniel Bryan:
Daniel Bryan has had one of the most incredible journeys in the history of wrestling over the past few years, and is over with almost everyone; from children who enjoy the “Yes!” chants to adults who appreciate his high level of technical wrestling.
After winning the WWE World Heavyweight Championship in the main event of WrestleMania 30, his career was at an all-time high. However, only a month later he announced that he was to undergo neck surgery, and was stripped of his title in June. Initially, WWE and fans were hoping for a return to wrestling this month, but Bryan is now in need of major elbow surgery. He has said that he hopes to return by ‘Mania 31, but that is an unlikely assumption: this type of surgery takes several months to recover from and it is uncertain whether he will be able to wrestle again. Hopefully, he will eventually return but it is not to be expected until after next year’s WrestleMania at the earliest.
Roman Reigns:
After the split of The Shield in June, WWE began pushing Roman Reigns as one of their top faces. He was inserted into the title picture against members of The Authority over the summer months. Unfortunately, the night before Night of Champions in September, Reigns was pulled from the card to have emergency hernia surgery. He has not wrestled since, but has been featured on WWE programming, being interviewed via satellite. Originally, it was estimated that he would be back in action after Christmas, but it is now more likely that he will hold off another few weeks and have his return at the Royal Rumble pay-per-view.
Bad News Barrett:
Wade Barrett’s initial push was halted by injury in 2012 when he suffered from a dislocated elbow. He missed that year’s WrestleMania season and returned in September of that year. After a lackluster run, he debuted his new gimmick, Bad News Barrett, in Decembr 2013.
He finally began getting pushed again and won the Intercontinental Championship at Extreme Rules this May. However, once more his push was forced to stop as he suffered a separated shoulder in June and was stripped of the title. He has not been on television since, and there has been a wide range of guesses as to how long he will remain inactive for. Most recently, Barrett has stated that he believes he will return around December-time, and has hinted that he would like to participate in the WWE European Tour in a couple of weeks.
It seems that we should have a couple of returnees in the run-up to WrestleMania season, but with any injury it is of course uncertain if a wrestler will return as soon as their scheduled estimation.
