WWE Survivor Series Predictions: Team Cena vs. Team Authority

facebooktwitterreddit

At WWE Survivor Series, everything is on the line when John Cena leads Team Cena into battle in a Traditional Survivor Series Match against The Authority and Team Authority.

Team Cena is comprised of Dolph Ziggler, Big Show, Erick Rowan and Ryback, while Team Authority features Seth Rollins, Kane, Mark Henry, Luke Harper and Rusev.

If Team Authority loses, The Authority are no longer in power in WWE. If Team Cena loses, Ziggler, Show, Rowan and Ryback are all fired.

So, who will be the ones to lose their jobs? Rob Wolkenbrod, Jordan Campbell, Luther Fraser, Callum Wiggins, Becca Cook, Carl Gac, and Mike Smith have some predictions.

Rob’s Take: With such a short card, the main event is going to get all the time in the world. With ten Superstars involved, I could see this going at least thirty minutes since no one will be wrestling for long stretches.

Since this feud has been getting a ton of attention, the match has to be something spectacular since WWE has put so much time and effort into creating storylines and stipulations for this match.

Since I can’t see WWE going with a storyline of four wrestlers having to get their jobs back, I think that Team Cena will win this match and end The Authority’s reign over the WWE.

However, I see a big swerve coming in the main event. Maybe Randy Orton shows up? Maybe someone turns on their respective team and costs them the match? Something is bound to happen.

Rob’s Prediction: Team Cena

Jordan’s Take: The buildup to this match has been surprisingly well, though, I think WWE might have let the cat out of the bag with Friday’s edition of SmackDown. It was announced on Smackdown that if Team Cena loses on Sunday, then all of their members will be fired. With that announcement, WWE may have spoiled the ending to the match. The match will likely end with Team Cena winning as that creates the better storyline with Triple H and Stephanie McMahon being reluctant to give up their power.

Speaking of this match, are we positive that there won’t be a surprise Roman Reigns or Randy Orton return?

This is going to be the main event of a Pay-Per View that is free on the WWE Network. WWE will want to go with a strong finish, and having either Orton or Reigns return would be just that.

In any event, prediction here is that Team Cena wins.

Jordan’s Prediction: Team Cena

Luther’s Take: The most simple way I can put this without all the outside factors and implications is, for The Authority to lose, Rusev has to be pinned or submit. I can’t see that happening so I go with Team Authority here.

Callum’s Take: The build to this main event has been centered on The Authority looking to maintain power and stop John Cena taking it away from them. This has resulted in Cena’s team go through many tribulations and changes before this past RAW. But, the crew he has assembled should be a prominent threat, with the gutsy Dolph Ziggler alongside three powerhouses in Ryback, Erick Rowan and Big Show. But, opposite them on paper is arguably the most powerful team ever assembled, which you would expect with the Authority’s influence.

In the end, the stipulation of Cena’s team being fired if they lose added on Smackdown may have given the result away. The Authority can afford to lose power for a while, but the shows can’t afford to lose Cena, Ryback or any of their team. Likely Big Show and Rowan will be eliminated early on, followed by Kane and Henry via Ryback. Dolph Ziggler will pass out to the Accolade, and Rusev will be disqualified or counted out to protect his undefeated streak. Ryback will eliminate Luke Harper before being blindsided by a sledgehammer attack from Triple H. That will leave Cena and Rollins, where the former will overcome any interference to become sole survivor.

Callum’s Prediction: Team Cena

Becca’s Take: With the added stipulation of “if Team Cena lose, they all get fired”, I can’t think of any realistic swerve that doesn’t result in their victory. It’s a shame that after such a lengthy and well-done build up of The Authority, it’ll disband because of John Cena. Hopefully other members of his team will come out looking strong and he isn’t the sole survivor.

Becca’s Prediction: Team Cena

Carl’s Take: Can i start by saying how well at times this has been built up in the last few weeks, but then ruined by the “We’re gonna fire all the faces if they lose” from Triple H on Smackdown.

I’d love to see The Authority win and then have Cena, Ziggler et al have to fight to get their jobs back, while Steph and HHH do their all to stop them becoming Superstars again.

For me, I can see Vince getting involved in the aftermath in some way, it’d be great to see Authority thwart his every move to reinstate Cena. But in reality I can’t see any of that happening (it’d be amazing if they did though).

Back to the match. There’s a lot of personal feuds going on all over the place. I think it’ll come down to Cena vs 3 or 4 of team Authority in the late stages before a Hulk Hogan style comeback and Cena grabs the win, possibly with the help of a returning Roman Reigns.

Carl’s Prediction: Team Cena

Mike’s Take: I’m very excited for this match.

While, I was disappointed in the Team Cena stipulation, there are ways around it so they could still lose.

I’ll go with Team Cena here, knocking The Authority out of power.

There’s going to be a new man in charge…maybe a man called “Sting”.
