We’re currently experiencing something amazing happening down in Florida. The stars of NXT are showing their more illustrious colleagues on the main roster how it should be done. The recent rumours that the main roster were a little annoyed after the fans response to NXT rEvolution shows that even if Vince doesn’t want to acknowledge it, the fans know where the best product is.
But who amongst the current NXT roster is the one to watch when they finally make the jump to the main shows?
For me that man is Finn Balor.
After spending many years wrestling on the independent circuit, most notably in Europe and Japan, the Irish native made his debut in NXT a few months ago. Appearing as the tag team partner to Hideo Itami he has instantly made an impact.
Throughout his career his in-ring work has put him among the best in the world, he now has the platform to show those skills to a wider audience under the WWE banner.
Aside from his stellar performances between the ropes, he has become known as a man who likes to do something a bit differently during his entrances. During the rEvoloution show, he debuted the full body paint that has become synonymous with his character across the world.
On various shows he has entered the ring dressed as everything from The Joker, Bane and Hannibal Lecter to Venom from Spiderman. It has become one of his unique selling points and i hope that he is allowed to keep those kind of entrances in his armoury when he makes the step up, how good would it be to see him painted up during his entrances on ppv’s every month??

Right now, if he was called up to the main roster, he could easily hold his own with the main event level wrestlers. He has a list of moves that are so different to the usual style you see on the main shows, he mixes the high flying with a strong style in the ring. His double stomp from the top rope is a move you have to admire.
As long as the former Prince Devitt isn’t subject to any kind of gimmick change, something that it pains me to see may be about to happen with Adrian Neville, he would instantly make an impact.
The fans of NXT would be sad to see him leave his home on their brand, but without a doubt he would be more than capable of making that step up!
