What if Triple H defeated Randy Orton and Batista for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship?

Following the defeat of Daniel Bryan, Triple H would go onto headline the show against former Evolution stable-mates in Randy Orton and Batista. The Viper’s run as WWE WHC was stale and the fans hated The Animal with a passion. This would seem like an ideal and easy choice to give Triple H the victory.

So The Authority reigns supreme to end the show. Triple H stands in the ring with Stephanie McMahon and an overly thrilled Kane while Orton eyes them from ring-side. The Silverdome (I mean Superdome), crowd would be dead silent as the confetti pours on the ring and everyone goes home annoyed. “Triple H is at it again. He is inserting himself at the top of the roster. What is this, 2000?”

We then get to the night after WrestleMania 30. While Triple H is celebrating in the ring, Orton’s music hits. He darts to the ring, confronts The Game, and hits him with an RKO. This would turn him babyface and set up the latest installment of this rivalry.

  • Unfortunately for Orton, the reign of Triple H as WWE WHC would only be starting. Orton would be defeated with help from Kane in an Extreme Rules match at the pay-per-view of the same name. This would set up a rematch at Payback, which Triple H would win again.

Before we finish Triple H’s title run, Seth Rollins has to be addressed first. Does The Shield ever break-up? If they still did, does Rollins align himself with Triple H? We’re going to stick with the latter scenario.

Sometime after the Payback PPV, Rollins will break-up The Shield and align him Triple H. He’d become The Game’s apprentice and join The Authority.

Following this, Triple H would hold off on defending the title until SummerSlam. He would battle John Cena, who would be looking to overcome the odds that The Authority placed on him. Despite his efforts, he would lose.

Over the fall months, Triple H would refuse to defend his belt (age, injuries come into play). He wouldn’t defend it until the Royal Rumble pay-per-view in a triple-threat with Daniel Bryan and Cena. The Game would keep the belt again.

However, after the match, the Royal Rumble would take place. Rollins, already showing signs of a face turn, would win the match to become the #1 contender to Triple H’s title at WrestleMania 31.

The following night, Rollins would get a huge reaction. Unfortunately for him, Triple H and The Authority would come out to confront the #1 contender. After a few minutes, HHH, Kane and Big Show would triple-team Rollins and leave him injured on the ground from a choke-slam, KO punch and Pedigree.

We then skip to WrestleMania 31 where Rollins would defeat Triple H to win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship and get his moment at the show of shows. This would turn Rollins into the next top babyface in WWE.
