Earlier tonight, the next batch of WWE NXT tapings took place from Full Sail University. The matches from the filming will air on April 29, May 6 and May 13.
There was plenty of build up in the tapings for the next TakeOver event, which will take place on May 20. What could the card look like based on the taping results? Take a look below.
- Bayley vs. Emma
- Rhyno vs. Baron Corbin
- Finn Balor vs. Hideo Itami vs. Tyler Breeze
- NXT Tag Team Championship
Blake and Murphy (c) vs. Enzo Amore and Colin Cassady (with Carmella) - NXT Women’s Championship
Sasha Banks (c) vs. Becky Lynch - NXT Championship
Kevin Owens (c) vs. Sami Zayn
As usual, the card looks great on paper. Given that and the fact no NXT TakeOver special has disappointed, this should be another great show.
Over the past few shows that have aired, it was alluded to that Amore and Cassady would be going after the NXT Tag Team Championship. With all the flirting from Blake and Murphy and the matches won by Team SAWFT, this was expected.
Bayley and Emma have had plenty of tension, as shown in previous shows and the taping results. They should put on a nice under card match. Plus, when’s the last time there’s been two Divas matches on any WWE card?
Rhyno vs. Corbin should be a slugfest, as these two will big men will tear each other apart. This may be an indication of the former NFL player turning heel too.
Along with the next match, Balor vs. Itami vs. Breeze could steal the show. This seems like a matchup of three spectacular wrestlers being put together to put on a show. A 4.0 out of 5 stars for this one is likely the worst grade that could be given to this.
Lynch won the #1 contender’s spot last night on WWE NXT by defeating Charlotte and Bayley. This sets up the battle of Team Bae, which could be the most intriguing match of the evening.
Finally, there’s the long-awaited rematch of Owens and Zayn. The first match between these two was very good, but resulted in the former El Generico getting mauled to the point where the referee called the match. This led to Owens winning without a pinfall, so maybe this time we get a clean finish.
So, what do you think of this card for the next WWE NXT TakeOver?
