WWE bringing in the King of Strong Style, Shinsuke Nakamura, would be a win-win.

Since 2013 Shinsuke Nakamura has been considered the best wrestler in the world by many even winning Dave Meltzer’s wrestler of the year in 2014 for the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. Along with wrestler’s such as AJ Styles, Kazuchika Okada, Kota Ibushi and Hiroshi Tanahashi, Nakamura and company have helped propel New Japan Pro Wrestling into the hottest wrestling promotion in the world. However, Nakamura has been the forefront of this revolution.

Since the beginning of the 2015 Nakamura has been in multiple five star matches including his match at Wrestle Kingdom 9 with Ibushi which has been considered by many to be the match of the year. Nakamura also had another five star match with longtime rival Hirooki Goto at Dominion 7.5., where Nakamura lost in a back in forth match for the IWGP Intercontinental Championship.

Since late July, Nakamura has been competing in New Japan Pro Wrestling’s annual G1 Climax Tournament with the winner receiving a main event championship match at New Japan’s biggest show Wrestle Kingdom 10 on January 4th, 2016 at the Tokyo Dome. Nakamura is currently 2-2 in the tournament with his last match with fellow Chaos stable member Tomohiro Ishii being considered the best match of the tournament so far.

With Shinsuke Nakamura recent string of classic matches, WWE should jump on signing the hottest star in the wrestling world. WWE is current in a situation where with the exception of John Cena, Randy Orton and Seth Rollins the company has no everyday main event stars. For the last few years, the company has to bring back stars of the past such as The Rock, Triple H, Chris Jericho, Batista and The Undertaker to work big time matches at major events such as WrestleMania and SummerSlam. This is done to help fill the void of not having a surplus of everyday main event talent. Nakamura would be able to help fill that void immediately.

WWE current policy now is when they sign a talent they must go down to NXT to learn the WWE style but if Nakamura was to come in he should come straight to the main roster. A huge reason for this is because WWE should let Nakamura remain who he is and not change him into their typical WWE esq character. Nakamura is nicknamed the King of the Strong Style because of his hard hitting style and letting him continue to use his style would diversify him from the rest of the roster.

Nakamura also has something that alot of wrestlers from Japan usually have lacked and that is personality. A major occurrence when WWE has brought in Japanese talent is that they have been very bland and have strongly lacked any personality and have depended on their wrestling and very poor comedy to help, does anyone remember Kai-en-Tai? WWE now is slowly to do the same thing with Hideo Itami down in NXT trying to use horrible comedy to help attract him to fans stripping away everything he once was that had made him a star in All Japan Pro Wrestling.

Nakamura has vibrant entrances and attires that reflect his fandom of Michael Jackson and Freddie Mercury of Queen. He is fluent in English and has a personality that helped make him the most popular wrestler in New Japan Pro Wrestling.

For a WWE run for him to work, they would have to let Nakamura stay Nakamura and remain the King of Strong Style. WWE would have to refrain from falling into old habits and start have Nakamura throwing salt in his opponents face. If WWE fears his English the perfect solution would be paring him up with Paul Heyman. Nakamura is the definition of a Paul Heyman guy and the pairing of these two would be absolutely unbelievable. You let Heyman do what he does on the microphone and let Nakamura do his work in the ring it would just rain money for WWE.

If i was booking Nakamura’s WWE the first thing i would do is put the Intercontinental championship belt on him. Nakamura during his time in New Japan has made the IWGP Intercontinental Championship just as prestigious as the IWGP Heavyweight Championship.

When the IWGP Intercontinental was established in 2011 in had a rough few months to the point where New Japan was considering dropping the belt. That changed however when Nakamura won the belt in 2012 and held the championship for 313 days and had three other reigns after, combined he held the championship for 781 days and had 15 successful defenses during his 4 reigns. He made the belt so popular that the fans voted him to defend the championship at the main event of Wrestle Kingdom 8 against  Hiroshi Tanahashi.

If Nakamura could make the IWGP Intercontinental Championship, he could do certainly do the same with WWE’s, a championship that has been struggling for prestige for over a decade. Nakamura could be booked the same way John Cena has been with the United States championship, having marquee matches with mid-card stars to help elevate both the championship and the contenders.

Look what John Cena has done with Kevin Owens and Cesaro he turned them from mid-carders to now being viewed as the next batch of main event talent on the roster, Nakamura could certainly do the same thing. He did it while he was the IWGP Intercontinental Championship helping elevate Kota Ibushi and Hirooki Goto.

I would have Nakamura hold the Intercontinental title then challenge the WWE champion at Wrestlemania. Having the Intercontinental champion wrestle the WWE champion at the biggest event of the year would not only solidify Nakamura as a top guy but would also bring life back to the Intercontinental championship putting its champion on the same bar as the WWE champion.

WWE signing Shinsuke Nakamura would be a win- win for everyone involved. However WWE would have to let Nakamura be Nakamura and refrain from turning him into Kai-En-Tai 2.0.
