Hulk Hogan Potentially Serving Jail Time

Hulk Hogan has seemed to cause more trouble for himself.

Hulk Hogan has apparently caused his recent legal troubles to potentially become a lot worse. According to the National Enquirer, which first broke the news about Hogan’s 2008 racist rant, Hogan apparently told lies while he was under oath in his current lawsuit with Gawker.

During a July 2nd hearing, Gawker attorney Seth Berlin revealed to the judge that Hogan had told reports to both the FBI and during a deposition that conflicted with one another.

Depending on who Hogan lied to the results are equally bad. If Hogan ended up lying to the FBI he could be found guilty of obstruction of justice. If it is revealed Hogan lied during his deposition he could be charged with perjury. Being found guilty of either can carry a punishment of serving time in prison.

In the same piece, the National Enquirer was able to contact defense attorney Anthony Brooklier on his thoughts on how bad this could potentially be for Hogan.

"That’s how Martha Stewart got nailed. It wasn’t insider trading that put her in jail. It was the lie she told to the cops."

Hogan was released from his contract with WWE on July 24th. It was around this time that the rumors were starting to swell that Hogan was involved in some sort of racial lawsuit. These rumors were seemed to be proven true when WWE released him from his contract.

Hogan at the time was working with WWE on the Tough Enough reality TV show, acting as one of the judges, alongside Daniel Bryan and Paige. With Hogan being released WWE replaced Hogan on the show with The Miz.

Jay’s Thoughts: The more that seems to come out with this lawsuit, the more grim it’s starting to look for Hulk Hogan. If Hogan actually ended up lying to the FBI he won’t be only trying to keep his good name in tact, he’ll be fighting to keep his freedom as-well. Whatever lies next for Hulk Hogan the road certainly got more bumpy with this news.
