WWE World Heavyweight Championship Match
Seth Rollins (c) vs. Randy Orton

Result: Randy Orton defeats Seth Rollins via disqualification. However, Seth Rollins retains the WWE World Heavyweight championship.

Rating: 3.0 out of 5 stars

Rollins escaped the ring before Orton could do anything. He took about a minute to get back in.

Rollins went after Orton right away with multiple stomps in the corner. He followed this with a punch until Orton reversed a move and nearly hit an RKO.

We come back to see Rollins in control with a hold until Orton began working back with a headbutt. Rollins would take him down by the neck for a near-fall.

Rollins would hit a neck-breaker and go for a dive on Orton, who hit an uppercut. Orton would get a brief flurry of offense and hit a powerslam for a near-fall.

Outside the ring, Orton would drop Rollins spine-first onto the announce table. He climbed back into the ring and nearly rolled up Orton for a pin. When Rollins was arguing with the referee, Orton nearly rolled him up as well. Rollins followed this up with a kick to the head.

Rollins would climb to the top rope but Orton made him fall on the post. Orton then hit a big superplex for a near-fall.

As the two got up, Rollins kicked Orton to the gut and went for a Pedigree. Orton countered and tried hitting his trademark DDT but Rollins kicked him in the head. Rollins then hit Orton’s trademark DDT off the ropes.

Rollins then mocked Orton’s RKO set up. He would go for the Pedigree but Orton countered. He went for it again but Orton countered again.

Orton then hit an awesome RKO after Rollins jumped off the top rope. As he went for the pin, Sheamus came down and pulled him off to cause the DQ.

Rob’s Note: The messy finish was expected. However, the logic of the attempted cash-in made no sense.

#1 – Why did Sheamus hold onto the briefcase for so long?

#2 – Why didn’t the referee immediately signal for the bell to ring?

#3 – Why does Randy Orton’s RKO have to mean Sheamus’ cash-in attempt is over?

Question number three baffled me the most. Why can’t a match still go on after Orton’s RKO? Where is that in the rules?

Come on, WWE.
