10 Things That Must Happen at SummerSlam

John Cena DOES NOT walk out WWE Champion
Whilst Lesnar/Undertaker is the outright main event of SummerSlam 2015, arguably the most captivating and significant contest will be placed just underneath it on the card. Seth Rollins defends his WWE World Heavyweight Championship against John Cena, with the challenger’s United States title also up for grabs. This title vs title clash is a rarely seen concept, particularly for such huge prizes. Plus, the added caveat is that Cena is approaching his sixteenth reign as a world champion, which would draw him level with Ric Flair. However, that is exactly the reason why Rollins should walk out adorned by both belts.
Cena was last WWE Champion at SummerSlam last year, losing to Brock Lesnar, and there is a huge opportunity for a creative story to take place. If the company keep the belt away from him for at least another year, the seed of doubt will be planted into fans’ mind as to whether he will actually break the record. A moment of that magnitude should be saved for a WrestleMania, no offence intended to the legacy of SummerSlam. Also, Rollins has a big opportunity to cement himself for years going forward with such in important victory, and Cena does not need the rub that could be handed to the Architect.
