For the first time in over ten years, Brock Lesnar is returning to the world’s most famous arena. Lesnar has been announced for the live show at MSG on October 3rd and his opponent has finally been announced. Lesnar will go one on one with Big Show at the Garden.
After what transpired on Raw last week, it was strongly believed that Bo Dallas would be the one to face Lesnar at the Garden. Lesnar viciously attacked Dallas after he came out and mocked Lesnar’ controversial loss to The Undertaker at SummerSlam. However, this will not be the case as Lesnar will instead face Show.

Coincidentally enough, this is not the first time Lesnar and Show have faced one another at the Garden. The two met for the WWE Championship back at the 2002 Survivor Series. The match is remembered as the first time Brock was pinned in his WWE career. Paul Heyman also famously turned on Lesnar that night, aligning himself with The Big Show.
This match hopefully will be more entertaining than the last time these two giants faced each other in the ring. The last time Lesnar and Show faced each other was back at the 2014 Royal Rumble, where Lesnar easily defeated Show.
WWE announced that they will be filming the event at the Garden exclusively for the WWE Network. WWE has not filmed an event at Madison Square Garden since the 2011 Survivor Series. On top of Lesnar vs. Show, WWE has also announced three other blockbuster matches.
Randy Orton vs. Sheamus, Dolph Ziggler vs. Rusev and Seth Rollins vs. John Cena for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship has also been added to the event. WWE will also honor and celebrate Chris Jericho’s 25th anniversary in the wrestling business.
The show at Madison Square Garden will be Lesnar’s first appearance there since his infamous match against Goldberg at WrestleMania XX. The match has been considered one of the worst matches of all time and was the last match is Lesnar’s first run in WWE. Hopefully Lesnar will be able to erase those memories with a stronger performance this time at Madison Square Garden.
