This past Monday, Raw aired one of the best backstage segments in recent memory. The New Day antagonized Seth Rollins, Xavier Woods challenged Christian to a “battle” featuring his trombone vs Christian’s kazoo, and then the Dudleys serenaded the New Day with their soon-to-be Grammy nominated song, “Get the Tables”. As entertaining as this was, seeing Edge and Christian alongside the Dudleys made a lot of fans feel like something was missing. Well, it seems like WWE may have felt the same way.
According to Cageside Seats, WWE has seen the positive reaction toward the Dudleys, and are considering bringing back the Hardy Boyz as well. There have been multiple polls on WWE.com lately referring to a potential Hardy return. One of which posed the question “Which Superstar or Diva would you like to see return for one more match?” As of September 12th, The Hardy Boyz had 32% of the vote, edging out Goldberg (24%) and Stone Cold Steve Austin (15%) among many others.

It’s fair to say WWE just wants to make sure that people would actually care if the Hardyz were to make a return, and after repeated feedback confirming that they would, it seems like this fantasy could eventually become a reality.
According to The Inquisitr, Matt is currently on a per-date deal with TNA, while Jeff has a full contract through February 2016. This means it will more than likely be a few months before the Hardyz could return, but it will likely be more than worth the wait. I truthfully never thought we would see the Hardyz back in WWE, given how content they seem to be in TNA. But with TNA on thin ice, who knows.
Matt and Jeff would inject even more life into an already booming tag team division. It’s impossible to predict where things will stand by the time they can actually return, but bringing back one of the most exciting tag teams of all time can’t be a bad idea, no matter the circumstances.
A Hardy Boyz return would be nothing short of electric. Jeff Hardy is/was by far my favorite wrestler as a kid, and following his Career vs. Career match with CM Punk, I took his promise to heart when he said “This is not goodbye forever, this is only goodbye for now.” Hopefully in a few months, Matt, Jeff, and WWE will all come together to keep that promise.
