WWE Tag Team Championship Match
Goldust and Stardust (c) vs. The Usos

Result: Goldust and Stardust defeated The Usos via pinfall to retain the WWE Tag Team Championship.

Rating: 3.2 out of 5 stars

What happened?

Goldust and Stardust would defeat The Usos in a rematch for the WWE Tag Team Championship after winning it off them at WWE Night of Champions the month before. This was Stardust’s first title under this gimmick.

Did this match have any implications after the PPV?

The tag team division wasn’t very good around this time last year, partly because WWE kept tossing the belt around like a hot potato. Gold and Stardust would lose their titles to The Miz and Damien Mizdow the next month at Survivor Series.

A few months later, Gold and Stardust would begin showing signs of tension and eventually break up. They had a one-off match for their feud.

The Usos would defeat Miz and Mizdow at TLC to win the titles back and hold them until WWE Fastlane, when Tyson Kidd and Cesaro got their first WWE Tag Team Championship reign. Jey Uso would hurt his shoulder in the middle of all this, be sidelined for 7-plus months and remains out to this day.
