How Tyler Breeze and Dolph Ziggler Could Form Tag Team at WWE Hell in a Cell

facebooktwitterreddit

Based on what we saw on SmackDown, Tyler Breeze and Dolph Ziggler will likely feud. However, could they actually form an alliance at WWE Hell in a Cell?

More from John Cena

On Thursday night, Tyler Breeze made his main roster debut during Miz TV on SmackDown. He was introduced as Summer Rae’s new guy and took out Dolph Ziggler in the process, who was part of the segment.

All indications are that Ziggler and Breeze will feud. While that will probably be the case, could there be a chance of them teaming together?

At WWE Hell in a Cell, John Cena is having a WWE United States Championship Open Challenge. Obviously it means no one knows who will face him.

Breeze and Ziggler have both been mentioned to face Cena for the belt. While only a one on one match has been mentioned, how about both of them being included in this bout.

Prince Pretty could answer the call and start coming down to the ring. However, Ziggler could come out and stop Breeze, saying he has no business getting his hands on the U.S. title. The Show-Off would then make sure of this by entering himself in the match and making it a triple threat for the belt. The US Open Challenges have mostly been one on one, so putting a triple threat could work here, especially since every match on the card involves one tag team or one Superstar going against the other.

  • So we get Cena vs. Ziggler vs. Breeze for the U.S. Championship. What could go wrong?

    Well, for Cena, many things.

When Cena and Ziggler wrestled a few weeks ago for the title, the latter used a raking of the eyes during the match—a clear heel move. Ziggler did not win, though, and took a clean loss. It was the one and only tease of a character turn for Dolph. There’s also Breeze, who is the new guy on the block. As noted, he attacked Ziggler on SmackDown three days ago. The Mayor of Cuteville is going to be a great, vicious heel going forward.

If Ziggler is showing heel tendencies and Breeze is already a bad guy, is it possible they become a team?

Cena, Ziggler and Breeze would put on an excellent match. The incumbent would retain, though, as Ziggler gets pinned. This would be the second time in three weeks that the former Spirit Squad member lost to Cena.

Breeze’s character is a spoiled, self-centered supermodel who always wants to get his way. This persona could mean he gets frustrated after the match and attack Cena. Dolph will be frustrated as well and decide to join Breeze in taking out Cena. They could pull out their superkicks and make this a Superkick Party. After they get in their trademark moves, they could bring Cena to the announce table and put him through it. Cena is set to leave for nearly two months following Hell in a Cell, so this would be a perfect way of writing him off TV. Breeze, Ziggler and Summer all stand tall and form the new Hollywood Blondes faction. Maybe with a different name, but they would be similar to the old tag team.

For those who don’t know, the Hollywood Blondes were a tag team from WCW in the mid-1990’s. It consisted of Stunning Steve Austin and the late Brian Pillman. They both had blonde hair at the time and were billed as a flashy tag team. Seems similar to Ziggler and Breeze, right?

Summer would be a great manager for Ziggler and Breeze. Not only because she’s blonde but she’s flashy, annoying and very in-your-face like Breeze and Ziggler’s characters are. She would be ideal to lead them.

Throwing Breeze into a tag team immediately might not be a common choice, but given what WWE has done with NXT stars in the past, this may not be a bad idea. Let him partner with someone popular like Ziggler and get over down the line.

While it’s nice to predict this scenario, it’s unlikely to happen. It means Ziggler will probably feud with Breeze, put him over, and fall into the purgatory known as the mid-card. Putting him into this tag team gives him some momentum and something interesting to do. Plus, a heel turn can’t hurt because the Show-Off aspect of his character will get the chance to be shown as a bad guy. Dolph can be cocky, arrogant and annoy all his opponents.

This trio of Summer, Breeze and Ziggler would have a lot of potential. They could get a long run with the WWE Tag Team Championship down the line and be a fresh force inside the division.

As for Cena, the next night on Raw, he could show up on the TitanTron with a cast on and claim Breeze and Ziggler broke a bone of his. This would indefinitely sideline Mr. HLR and he would then say that he can’t be a fighting champion like he’s always wanted to be, so the U.S. Championship gets forfeited. The title could then be put up in a battle royal for a chance at winning it later in the night.

So while unlikely, there would be a lot of potential in a Tyler Breeze-Dolph Ziggler-Summer Rae trio. They would be a fresh group, which is always needed in WWE. The damage that they could do would be intriguing to watch and hopefully it begins at Hell in a Cell.

The people want it, so could we get it?
