Survivor Series (2008) – Chris Jericho (c) vs. John Cena for the World Heavyweight Championship
Cena returned from a legitimate injury (herniated disc) to take on Jericho, which was the first time the two fought for a major title in over three years.
Taking place in the Boston Garden, Cena was actually well received by the crowd during this time; Jericho received a majority of boos from the fans. Jericho focused squarely on Cena’s neck for much of the match, trying to slow down the challenger right from the start, and not letting up for the entire match. Fair to say, Cena took a lot of punishment in this match including kicks to the neck and of course, the Liontamer, done properly.

Ring rust and confidence played a big factor in why Jericho was so dominate for the first two-thirds of that match, but Cena eventually got his mojo working, and made a big comeback to win the title via the Attitude Adjustment. One of the better straight-up – no-gimmicks, no interference – Survivor Series main event matches you’ll find.
