Finn Balor Must Debut with Sheamus-Led League of Nations for Faction to Succeed
The League of Nations group was formed last night on Raw. However, for it to succeed, they need a star to breakout, like Finn Balor.
Finn Balor’s call-up has been discussed recently in interviews and it seems like he’ll be here at some point in the future. Here is how he can get introduced.
Last night, the should-have-been main event of WWE Raw featured Sheamus defending the WWE World Heavyweight Championship against Roman Reigns. For the former Shield man to win, he had to do so in under 5 minutes and 15 seconds.

When Reigns was gaining momentum, Rusev came down and pulled him out of the ring, causing a disqualification. King Barrett ran down as well to join the fray, furthering the alliance that was shown last week. Then Alberto Del Rio was added to the party. One Sheamus promo later, we had the League of Nations faction created.
So we have Barrett, Del Rio, Rusev and Sheamus included in this group. There was no backstage segments or anything of these guys coming together, only that they’re globally linked, giving them enough reason to team up. Whatever. What this group is missing is an up-and-coming talent that needs to get over. Last time we checked, Sheamus has been around for about 6 years, Del Rio is on his second stint, Barrett’s a WWE Creative afterthought and Rusev’s chance of being pushed passed when he started throwing fish. It’s not a recipe for this group to succeed.

If you look back on many of the great factions in WWE’s history, there was always one or two Superstars who were primed for a push when the group split up. The Nation of Domination featured The Rock going over. Evolution created Randy Orton and Batista. The Shield had Roman Reigns, Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins all get pushed. Triple H broke out in D-Generation X. Edge and Christian broke away from Gangrel in The Brood. You get the point.
So if none of these four stars are going to become a star from this group, why not call up someone from WWE NXT? Protecting an upcoming star in a faction would be a great way to start off a career. And who better to fill that role than NXT Champion Finn Balor (Yes, we are going off the fact Balor is Irish. That’s what this group is based off).
Sometime in 2016, the founder of the Bullet Club faction will make his way to the main roster. His wrestling skill and unique character displays the massive potential for the character.
Like any Superstar or Diva, though, Balor will need to get over with the crowd. Pairing him with the League of Nations, four unlikable heels, will help him standout. Fans will boo him for a while but once they see the “demon” brought out in big matches, plus his in-ring work, the cheers will start coming. Then we will see the first teases of Balor breaking away from the group—maybe through his League of Nation teammates getting jealous. This could lead to a beat down of Finn after he scores a big win.
It’s all a simple concept and just what’s needed for Balor to get over, if put in this faction. He could become the big-time international star that WWE has lacked for years.

Given the state of WWE’s booking, this faction will probably only be used to give Reigns a few wins before he inevitably wins the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. It will be another wasted opportunity by WWE to do something great with average pieces. Looking at this negatively is unfortunate, but it’s hard to be positive with how these shows are going.
Finn Balor will get the call eventually, and if this group is still around, his presence could benefit him in the long run.
