Rusev (with Lana) vs. Ryback
If you wanted to know the definition of a filler match, Ryback and Rusev would be a perfect example. With such a lame story of Ryback being sad and lonely, so any kind of public display of affection by Lana and Rusev would make him feel insignificant- okay, maybe that’s not really the story, but who cares, it’s dumb! These poor souls actually had to follow the tag ladder match, and I’m sure both guys felt like just heading for their respective hotels, because heels and face don’t stay at the same place, you know, “kayfabe” and all, right? No?

Anyways, these two came out and did the best they could, but overall the match was a sleeper for me, if anything I would have rather seen them beat the hell out of each other to a double disqualification, short match, longer brawl. Instead, they tried to actually have a logical match, which even saw Ryback fly off the top rope, as scary as that was. I’m pretty sure The Big Guy looked down nervously, just before jumping. Since he has one of the more reckless track records; maybe he should stay on the ground in the future. The ending wasn’t much better when Ryback actually fell for Lana’s “injury” yet again! Look, I get he’s not touted as some intellectual genius, but at some point ignore the heel manager and focus on the wrestler in front of you.
The biggest plus of the match was who won it, which was Rusev. Being in the League of Nations, it made no sense for him to lose here, as they are still building credibility as a stable.
For each match I’ll give a “watch” or “pass” and this one is an easy pick, pass.
