Shane McMahon Running WWE Raw is Best for Business
By Jay Sichler
After running Monday Night Raw for the last three weeks, Shane McMahon has shown that him running the program is what’s best for business.
At WrestleMania 32, Shane McMahon did everything he could to defeat The Undertaker inside Hell in a Cell. If Shane were to win he would’ve gained control of Monday Night Raw. However, despite pulling out every trick in the book including jumping off the top of Cell, McMahon could not beat The Deadman.
The next night on Raw, Shane came out to say his goodbyes to the WWE Universe. However, feeling like Shane was trying to upstage him, Vince McMahon, decided to give his son Shane control of running RAW on a temporary basis. For the last three weeks, Shane has had complete control of Monday Night Raw.

During this time, we have seen new superstars come up from NXT to the main roster, such as Baron Corbin, The Vaudevillians, Enzo and Cass, and Apollo Crews. We also saw Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows make their shocking debut to the main roster as well. Needless to say, the last few weeks of RAW have been shocking and exciting in that department.
Alongside the exciting new debuts to the main roster, RAW has also been putting on some exciting matches as well. From the fatal four-way No. 1 Contender’s match to the tag team tournament, and the battles that have consisted of matchups involving Sami Zayn, Chris Jericho, AJ Styles and Kevin Owens, the quality of matches has improved since the Progidal Son took over.

The last few weeks of RAW have been some of the best we have seen in quite some time. For the last few months, you could truly see the impact of John Cena, Randy Orton and Seth Rollins not being on the show. That hasn’t been the case the last few weeks as the shows have been so entertaining that you didn’t need those three on the show.
The fact that show is being run by a face character like Shane, for the first time in what seems like forever, is also a breath of fresh air. Over the years, the show has been generally run by a heel, Eric Bischoff, William Regal and recently The Authority to name just a few. After the success of the Mr.McMahon charter of 1990’s and early 2000’s, WWE got into this trend that every authority figure had to be a heel.
This was painfully apparent when WWE tried over the last three years to make The Authority the new version of The Corporation. The Authority were just never over. They didn’t get heel heat they got boredom heat. Their persona was the same stigma fans had been seeing on RAW for the last 15 years.

The former WWE Hardcore Champion, on the other hand, breaks that stigma. He is making the show as entertaining as possible and doing it for the fans, not for himself. He’s also big on building for the future and breaking away from the past. For the first time in years, WWE looks like they finally have a plethora of future stars.
The way the show has been booked the last few weeks, finally shows that WWE is ready for breaking away from the part-timers and ready to develop a fresh new batch of current stars. McMahon’s return to WWE has completely lived up to the hype. RAW is exciting once more and the future finally looks bright.
