WWE NXT: Who is Andrade Almas?
Who is Andrade Almas, nicknamed “Cien”, WWE NXT’s newest Superstar?
WWE NXT has been going through a transition of late. This has been headlined by multiple top stars being called up to WWE’s main roster like Sami Zayn, Apollo Crews, Baron Corbin, Enzo Amore and Colin Cassady, and probably Finn Balor within a few weeks. Replacements are going to be needed for them, and fans may have received a glimpse at one of these names.
On Wednesday night’s episode of WWE NXT, fans saw a vignette for a new Superstar named Andrade Almas with the nickname ‘Cien’.

But just who is NXT’s newest Superstar?
Andrade Almas was a star in CMLL and performed under the name “La Sombra” from 2007 to September 2015. He was a star for the promotion, winning multiple titles during this time, including the CMLL Universal Championship in 2011. This was all while under a mask, which is symbolized in the video where he removes it, meaning that he will not be wearing this in NXT. It almost seemed like a turning of a new chapter in Almas’ career, which made this a fun vignette.
In November 2015, WWE announced that Almas had signed and went immediately to NXT. He began performing under his real name of Manny Andrade at live events, making a big name for himself throughout 2016. Fans are already impressed with what he can do.
Another cool thing about Andrade Almas? His NXT in-ring name actually means “100 souls” (“Cien” Almas).

So when could Almas debut? While he hasn’t been announced for this summer’s Cruiserweight Classic, this would seem to be a great time to showcase what the Luchador can do. Seeing him win the tournament wouldn’t be surprising either.
After this, it wouldn’t be surprising to see Cien get a chance at filling one of the top spots in NXT. With all those previously mentioned names having left or that will be departing soon, someone is going to need to step up. Almas could be that guy given the phenomenal matches he has been putting on at NXT live events. His charisma hasn’t been tested yet on TV, so that will be another factor in the equation.
