WWE Rumors: 6 NXT Stars Being Called Up for WWE Draft
Reports of NXT being raided for the WWE Draft continue to come in.
Before the live episodes of SmackDown begin on Tuesday, July 19, the WWE Draft will take place. A date for this has not been announced yet.
For the draft, there has been plenty of speculation that WWE NXT stars will be called up given all the talent that will be needed for Raw and SmackDown. On a recent edition of Wrestling Observer Live, it was mentioned that there could be six NXT call-ups for the WWE Draft. No names were given.

The leader of the pack of these call-ups will probably be Finn Balor. His debut has been speculated on for months, with a recent report that his arrival is coming soon. However, we have heard this for a while, so it’s anyone’s guess.

American Alpha, the team of Chad Gable and Jason Jordan, could be options. They recently dropped the NXT Tag Team Championships and have been rumored to be call-ups.
Don’t rule out their rivals, The Revival, either. They already had a look at the WWE Roadblock special and impressed. Their work has been praised and they even become the first two-time champion of any title in NXT.
Shinsuke Nakamura will be another speculated name. It has been assumed that he wouldn’t be in NXT for long, but he may be better off getting his own spotlight down the line.
Blake and Murphy, who despite being prepared for singles runs, could be options. They don’t have much to do in NXT, and could be decent enhancement talents.

Nia Jax is another one who doesn’t have much to do in NXT. She is coming off her second NXT Women’s Championship defeat, and is likely at the back of the line for another chance. The cousin of The Rock would make for an interesting addition to WWE’s women’s division and could have a dominant heel run.
Alexa Bliss and Carmella are two more options. Since receiving their title shots in the fall of 2015 and early 2016, respectively, they haven’t done anything of significance on NXT. Moving them up would allow women like Peyton Royce, Billie Kay, and Liv Morgan to get more TV time.
There will probably be speculation about Bayley too. She is likely going to get her title rematch with Asuka at NXT TakeOver: Back to Brooklyn. However, that might not hold WWE back from calling her up for the draft, as we saw the women’s division raided in July 2015 with champion Sasha Banks moving up.
