Is WWE SmackDown Live Allowing Bray Wyatt to Shine Alone?
By Dj Beal
With Bray Wyatt being on the Smackdown Brand, will he receive more opportunities and potentially go on his first title run?
Bray Wyatt seems to be all alone now as the Wyatt Family was partially split up during the Brand Split. Although Erick Rowan is on Smackdown with Bray, they weren’t shown together on the first episode. Smackdown seems to be the stepping stone for Bray Wyatt to regain his claim as the greatest character in WWE right now. With the rosters split and Bray showcasing his skills alone, he has a better chance to succeed. For the rest of the Wyatt Family, it seems like it will be a struggle for them to build themselves considering their run without Bray previously.
It was different to see Bray Wyatt on Smackdown with new attire while building on what made him the best in the first place. He wore a black jacket and didn’t feel like the same character that fans are used to seeing even when he was alone before.

The subtle changes in Wyatt’s presentation seemed to enhance his character while in the ring he still wrestles with the same smash mouth style. The only major change was the look of Wyatt, making him seem more human rather than supernatural. This change is no a terrible alteration because it gives him a different feel and gives the fans reason to believe that one of his main focuses are championships. Keeping the deviant and dark mystique of a Wyatt intact helps to build his character but also gives him reason to want a championship that is different from the typical wrestler. This new found want may be giving rise to a Wyatt title run in the future.

He even seems to be getting more chances on Smackdown as he received his first qualifying match for a World Championship in WWE. I have always felt like the Wyatt Family needed to take over WWE and win all the championships to show how much of a dominant force they were or causing the New Day to split up could’ve enhanced the once dominant faction.
WWE instead decided to split the group up and it has already given Bray Wyatt more chances than he ever has. Coming off many meaningless feuds over the past two years, Wyatt had his first chance to actually win a singles championship in the six pack challenge on Tuesday.

It’s amazing to think that even though Bray has been one of the brightest characters in WWE since his arrival that he hasn’t had a chance to battle for any of WWE’s top prizes. Even in NXT, he never won the NXT Championship before coming to the main roster. With Smackdown being split from Raw, this is a chance for a variety of guys to find their way instead of getting lost in the shuffle. Bray’s recent No. 1 Contender shot equates to this because he had been falling down the same path. As Bray inches closer to his first championship run, it allows the fans to think of how a Wyatt title run would be received. This could take Wyatt to the level of the Undertaker when he won his first major championship and give Smackdown some much-needed star power.
